  1. I suppose that is better than to say, "Go to BYU".
  2. I suspect one poster (who's name is a form of frozen moisture we ask for in our winter prayers) will be missed by many.
  3. Very few people outside of Daniel C. Peterson and Hugh Nibley would understand such a discussion in Adamic. English and more precisely Jacobean English are best suited for this forum.
  4. If we premise all things on natural reproduction, then the answer would have to be yes. If we premised things based on the first day in Algebra class, the answer would be, "I don't know".
  5. Not to worry, with a mere 5 gallons of that gooey Australian epoxy hair remover and 720 removal strips, his back would be clean as a whistle.
  6. It could be that this article is written and slanted in such a way as to be punishment to the judge for making a ruling they didn't like. The one item I do suspect is true in that article is that such a Judge exists and that people do have at least biological mothers and fathers.
  7. And what did Lois mean by that "faster than a speeding bullet" remark?
  8. Maureen, I suspect you are right. Perhaps the rebuttal was taken from a combination of Brother Palmer's article and a few random selections from the Wikipedia, with emphasis on the random Wikipedia articles.
  9. Perhaps its the allure of the FunkyTown Fan Clubâ„¢.
  10. Shout it from the streets Sister Beefche: Won't you take me to Funky Town Won't you take me to Funky Towwnn. :)
  11. At some point hopefully the lion will lay down with the lamb and you can make the choice of what to include in your belief system so that it is genuine for you. It is possible to go with Pascal's choice of hedging your religious bets by going with the side of God or you may choose outright. Just make sure it rings true to you and is not but an echo of what you've been told. BTW, symbols are great.
  12. Elgama, it sounds good to me. I like the name Covesea. Just don't confuse Wushu with moo shu, since the former will not fit on those chinese tortillas. Hope that helps.
  13. Maureen and Dravin, I wanted opinions with everyone exercising their free agency as to meaning and context. I have to be decisive in other areas of my life as need arises, but I need a rests from that too. If direction is called for, then go with being creative. :)
  14. Maureen, your link seemed abbreviated for a four page article, and I am wonder from this quote if this isn't some sort of paraphrasing. I thought only Bob Dole spoke of himself in such a third person manner.
  15. The link seems to be a rebuttal to Grant Palmer's pro-Mormon article. I would really like to read Brother Palmer's article. Does anyone have a link to it (Midwestern Journal of Theology, Spring 2010: 115-118)?
  16. Good reference. Uncle Dale used to have that on his website, but you know people and their lawsuits, when the control of historical information is at stake. Were any of these journals from the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers in this collection? I remember reading from the notes of the Mormon Historical Association, how the lady who was the Director of the DUP described tearing pages out of the pioneer journals, under her charge, when she ran across something she thought was embarrassing. Yikes!
  17. How does everyone feel about lengthy cut and pastes in message board posts? ---
  18. Or at least between the Control-C keys and the Control-V keys.
  19. I sense that peculiarity everytime I look in the mirror. -------------------------- That body of Christ idea the PrisonChaplain has talked about before in regard to those who are disciples of Christ does sound appealing. Sort of a bigger inclusive circle to encompass all our devotion to Jesus, despite our differences. I believe one of the original messages of the primitive Church was to seek togetherness as a family. Wonder if this could include very peculiar uncles?
  20. I see where this is headed: If Homosexuals are allowed to marry then pretty soon Heterosexuals will be asking for the same thing.
  21. Something is amiss when the prime messages of Jesus from the Great Commandments and the Beatitudes is considered cherry picking.
  22. In addressing this problem of how to create a more favorable image for Mormons, it would seem important not to blame the world for their low standards compared to us, as the culprit. Attitudes of arrogance on our part simply cannot suffice as an answer. We have many endearing and admirable qualities that are being missed in the public perception. It is those positive qualities that we need to stress. Let me bring in one of my suggestions from the past: Making missions more service oriented. When people see our inherent goodness, they will want what we have to offer.
  23. One place with a mountain of historical documents online, that you can read for yourself, is the site run by Uncle Dale Broadhurst. There you can find such choice items as many of the earliest Church newspapers.
