  1. That counts as education. Screech teaches valuable life lessons.
  2. Good point, I don't want any poutine at my barbecue. That stuff is just weird.
  3. @Zarahemla, I recommend reading all of Ezekiel 28, but here's what Ezekiel 28:15 says in reference to Satan: "Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee."
  4. My favorite: When the FBI knock at their door they flush all their coke [coca-cola] in the toilet #MormonMafia
  5. From the Star-spangled Banner Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,And this be our motto: “In God is our trust.”And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall waveO’er the land of the free and the home of the brave! Yes, let's take Mexico and Canada. That would be a good start. We should become the superpower I know we can be.
  6. Christmas- it lasts for a whole month. How can you beat that? You can't.
  7. I saw that t-shirt when I was in Jerusalem last year, thought about buying it, I should have. With instances like the six-day war, it's clear that God won't let anyone wipe them out. Israel is here to stay, and I'm happy about that.
  8. 1 Nephi 14:10 "And he said unto me: Behold there are save two churches only; the one is the church of the Lamb of God, and the other is the church of the devil; wherefore, whoso belongeth not to the church of the Lamb of God belongeth to that great church, which is the mother of abominations; and she is the whore of all the earth." My question is: how do you, as LDS, determine what is part of "the church of the Lamb of God" or of "the church of the devil"? How do you know what religions or religious sects are part of which group?
  9. I was kind of wondering this too. @Sunday21 and @pam, are you saying you actually caused people to levitate when you were kids?
  10. A friend in the highest of places would be God. And on the contrary, it's good for the US to have Israel in its back pocket.
  11. My denomination (Foursquare) teaches that women can be pastors. I don't agree with this because of a handful of Bible verses. However, this not a major thing. It is rarely brought up and few Foursquare pastors are women. Another example would be I went to a church that believed in eternal security. I don't, but I'm not going to disregard an entire church because of something minor like this. Between women pastors, eternal security, infant baptism, etc., there's no denomination I agree with 100%. Minor interpretational things like this can be overlooked. However, there are some things that cannot be, like the path to salvation. And no, I haven't been a pastor. My dad and grandfather were, so I've helped out in churches a lot.
  12. I'm not trying to offend anyone. Obviously I believe that there are things that the Mormon church teaches that are wrong, otherwise I'd be a Mormon. There are things my own denomination teaches that I believe are wrong as well. The point I was trying to make is that I get tired of people being too politically correct to correct someone, and Jack Chick wasn't that way. I don't agree with him on everything, I don't think everything he said was perfect, but I admire his courage.
  13. Obviously it's not right to just tell someone that they are going to hell and stop. The important part is what comes next, that they are told the truth of the gospel and Christ's forgiveness.
  14. I am saying that Jack Chick said that. He made a tract about the Mormon church called "The Visitors," it does not portray the Mormon church in a positive light.
  15. There is a difference between saying "all Catholics are going to hell" and saying "those of you who think you can pay off your own sins in purgatory are going to hell." Telling someone that they're going to hell is a very loving thing to do. Obviously, as you point out, we should not judge people (Matthew 7:1-2 "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.") Matthew 7 also says "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." It's not about the "right type of Christian," it's about fully accepting his truths. Obviously both of us think we are the "true Christian," but some religions leave out, twist, or add to essential truths. It doesn't matter what church you go to, it matters what you believe in your heart. Questions like who is Jesus? Is his death sufficient for your sins? etc., are the key pieces. No one can say "all Catholics are going to hell" but someone can say "This doctrine is of pagan origin and here's how" or "Jesus was enough to pay for your sins, if you don't believe that, you're going to hell because you are turning to something else for salvation."
  16. I'm not trying to insult you, I'm just trying to use his sermon as an example.
  17. Sometimes people need to be told that they're going to hell unless they turn to God. If you've ever heard Johnathon Edward's Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, it's powerful. Is it nice? No, but some people need to hear it.
  18. I guess this comes down to our different religious opinions. One thing I appreciate is that he took on the false teachings of different major religious groups including Islam, Catholicism, Jehovah's Witness, I won't complete the list because it includes one that might rhyme with shlormonism. I get tired of people being afraid to speak the truth because they think they will offend someone. This guy was bold and wasn't afraid of being politically correct because he thought that it was more important to speak truth. Sometimes the truth hurts.
  19. He's spreading the gospel. That's enough for me
  20. Jack Chick was a sincere guy with his heart in the right place. No one is perfect (except Jesus, obviously), but he will be missed. His tracts will still be used and he can continue to touch peoples' lives through these tracts even though he has passed on. That is something I know I can reach for in what is left of my life, leaving behind a legacy that touches peoples lives even after I die. That's a good goal.
  21. Wow! I think I'm related to that Adam guy too. I wonder if you and I are related. Are you by any chance related to a guy named Noah? I hear he was pretty good at building boats.
  22. Because NeverTrumpers know that none of this would ever happen.
  23. We don't always agree, but this time we do. Those are delicious.
  24. I think if anyone picks up momentum over the next few years it'll be Bernie Sanders because the millenials are a bunch of commies (okay that's an exaggeration, but many of them will admit that they're socialist). However, by the time he got elected, he would be so old that it could be Weekend at Bernie's III: Weekend at the Whitehouse (I never saw the second one because it looked horrible). Back on topic... Gary Johnson would have gotten more support, but he's in favor of legalizing marijuana and he's also in favor of abortion. This is the reason he didn't get more support from right-wing anti-Trump conservatives, like myself. But yes, I agree that Libertarians in general will get more support in the years to come. Younger people are gravitating toward extremes, whether it be libertarianism or socialism.
