  1. And Romney for Secretary of State? Mitt Romney on Trump: "Think of Donald Trump's personal qualities, the bullying, the greed, the showing off, the misogyny, the absurd third grade theatrics. We have long referred to him as 'The Donald.' He is the only person in the entire country to whom we have added an article before his name. And it wasn't because he had attributes we admired." "If Trump had said 4 years ago the things he says today about the KKK, Muslims, Mexicans, disabled, I would NOT have accepted his endorsement." Not to mention the whole #nevertrump thing Trump on Mitt Romney: "Looks like two-time failed candidate Mitt Romney is going to be telling Republicans how to get elected. Not a good messenger!" “He’s a choke artist, he choked, and he choked like nobody I’ve ever seen except for [Marco] Rubio in Florida when Chris Christie was grilling him.” They hated each other.
  2. I'm not an expert on the Mormon migration and its causes and effects on the country, but this site has a ton of articles on the Mormon migration: https://mormonmigration.lib.byu.edu/explore/
  3. I have some extended family in Portland, the epitome of socially liberal places. One of the high school kids in my family said that two of the teachers were crying in class. At first I thought it was a little funny, then I realized how sad it is that people put all of their trust in a person, who can easily disappoint. I'm glad my trust is in God because he'll never let me down.
  4. How can you read suwar like Al-Baqarah and At-Tawbah and say there's no violence in the Quran? Muslims are called to make war on the "infidels" (Surah 9:5). It's what Muhammad taught. Maybe someone is quaffing the cool-aid, but it's not me.
  5. No one can make the claim that Muhammad was a man of peace. He lead many military conquests, conquered Mecca, and raided caravans. He even beat his favorite wife Aisha (Sahih 4:2127). He was a violent man.
  6. Agreed. We should celebrate life, not death. Black Friday is also declaring war on Thanksgiving. Some stores opened as early as 6:00 PM on Thanksgiving night last year. Thanksgiving is supposed about giving thanks (obviously), not about buying a bunch of junk for really cheap.
  7. Yes, I think we all need to remember it's not real. With that said, I didn't think Merida was a very likable character. She was rude and had no respect for her parents (her mom in particular). The other thing that bothered me was the feminist message of "I don't need a husband." In fact, "I'll be shootin' for ma own hand," to quote Merida. This simply was not realistic for the time period, then again, neither was the demon bear or around 90% of the movie.
  8. Thanks for posting, this is a very interesting article. And to think, some atheists claim Christ never existed. I don't see how anyone who has looked at all of the evidence (even outside of the Bible) could conclude that Jesus didn't exist. I guess most of those people haven't studied it out because they don't care about Jesus.
  9. I don't think Kennedy was killed by LBJ/CIA/FBI or the Russians. It's a lot more complicated than that. But yes, I do believe the shot was fired from the grassy knoll.
  10. I love conspiracy theories (Moon landing, Kennedy Assasination, etc.) but Alex Jones's are way out there and he usually doesn't have anything to back them up with. I do have to give him credit for sneaking into Bohemian Grove and filming the cremation of care ceremony. Anyway, people like Alex Jones because he explains things that other people can't explain. He gives them an answer even if it makes no sense. There are a lot of things that don't make sense or are mysterious in this world; he capitalizes on that by giving them some strange opinion opinion on why things are a certain way. Other people like to listen to him because what he is saying is ridiculous and thus entertaining.
  11. The Quran was supposedly revealed to Muhammed in the beginning of the 7th century AD. And, as I am sure you know, he lived and conquered in that century, so it's been about 1,400 years. Pardon my use of about 1,500 when its really closer to 1,400; I was rounding. Consider what Muhammed did to the the tribe of Banu Quraiza. His slaughtering of the Jews is not what I would call peaceful.
  12. The Quran is a key document for understanding the Muslims. From the parts of it that I have read, it is clear that Muslims have not been on good terms with Jews for at least around 1,500 years.
  13. And it came to pass that as the bricks decreased in size, the phone books ceased to exist. And much affliction came over the people as they began to rely increasingly on their bricks.
  14. We do know the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, although we do not know what some of the names like Pishon refer to. Are you saying that the flood completely changed everything so that the Tigris and Euphrates in the Bible is different than what is now known as the Tigris and Euphrates? It would be more like if 1 Nephi 18 said that Lehi and his family landed on a narrow strip of land and settled near the Usumacinta River. With the name of the river that corresponds to a river we know of, we would know where the story takes place We know of two of the rivers and their location: Tigris and Euphrates.
  15. Regardless of post-flood location, the Bible does define where it originally was before the flood (Genesis 2:10-14).
  16. Thanks for clearing that up. My apologies for misunderstanding
  17. In all fairness, there really are people that believe Trump is a fulfillment of prophecy. http://www.charismanews.com/opinion/59304-donald-trump-key-to-isaiah-45-prophecy
  18. It said I can only eat about 1,062 Hershey's chocolate bars per day before I die, which seems weird because I has about 1,100 yesterday and I'm still here. In all seriousness, as a non-LDS, I think it is great that you have decided to give up drugs. Caffeine is also technically a drug and can become very addictive. I've known people who would get headaches every morning if they didn't get their coffee. For that reason, I made the decision to avoid coffee when I was young. To this day I've never had a cup of coffee, and I'm glad I made that decision. But @Sunday21 is right, you might get better results if you ease into it gradually. I would say don't worry so much about using meat sparingly at first and focus on the cannabis, illegal drugs, cigarettes, and alcohol.
  19. I would like for her to get punished, but deep down inside, I know its more likely that I would stop eating doughnuts. In other words, its never going to happen. In any case, a timeshare in Florida does sound nice.
  20. These new emails could not have come at a better time. Now Clinton is only up by about four points instead of the seven of a couple weeks ago. Hopefully they actually punish her this time, she deserves it.
  21. 1 Peter 5:1-4 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
  22. Quite frankly, I don't have any advice, but I will be praying for you.
  23. Interesting article. My father planted a church when I was just a kid. There was a lot of difficulty and hardship. There were a lot of rumors that were meant to divide the church. It caused a lot of conflict between him, his mom, his brother, etc. He got stabbed in the back by many people that he was close with. It was hard and my parents thought about giving up many times. When you do the work of God, Satan will always try to stand in the way, and he tried everything. Despite all of these troubles (and my father's hatred for public speaking) he never gave up. He always knew that he was doing what God wanted him to, so he had to keep going and doing the will of God. Most don't do it for the money. My father had to take up a second (and at one point a third) job just to pay the bills. My grandfather also pastored a church for about 30 years. I say this not to say that pastors shouldn't exist, I think they should. But in order to be a pastor, you have to rely on God, you can't do it in your own. Yes, is a difficult job, but yes, its an important one. Could my father do it? Not on his own, but God helped him because he relied on God.
  24. Trump is not a fulfillment of New Testament prophecy. Applying this verse to Trump would require taking the verse completely out of context. Trump isn't special (influential) enough to get prophesied about in the Bible. He's just another presidential candidate. 1 Corinthians 15:52 has nothing to do with Trump.
  25. Yeah, we all have things in our past that were not proud of. Watching Saved by the Bell definitely falls under that category for me.
