Different laws for different states. I had a few bars back in the day. We couldn't do ladies night or happy hour discounts because we couldn't sell alcohol for less than its cost.

I suppose "what you do" depends on what you're looking for. Are you looking to bring light to this? Are you looking for closure? Are you looking to find a way mentally past this? Given that he's dead, it doesn't seem like there is much that can be done to punish him. He's answering for his actions already. I would suggest counseling. If this is something that affects you 40 years later, only advice would be to find a way to make yourself whole. My prayers are certainly with you today.

I'm torn. On the one hand, I absolutely agree with you. On the other hand, as someone who holds community office, I'm amazed at the things that go unchallenged in our schools and communities because people aren't involved enough to know what is going on.

I get torn. As a general rule, I speak out now as long as my response is rooted in scripture and faithful.

Welcome! I'd start with the missionaries AND start going to your local chapel. Depending on how old you are, I learned quite a bit talking to existing members and asking questions that came up with the missionaries.

We have a decent mix, mostly converts. HOWEVER, I chuckled when I read "Mercedes and BMW". We were just talking this month how you can always tell it's ward conference by the BMWs with out of state plates in the parking lot.

Sure. It takes reasonable people. As a counselor, I don't ask my bishop what he talks to my children about. Were I bishop, I'd ask the counselor if it would be an issue.
