STOP LOOKING AT YOUR PHONE!!!
Emmanuel Goldstein replied to Carborendum's topic in General Discussion
consider removing all the apps that you don't need. -
Sadly, I think you are right. This is what happens when hate rules men's hearts.

I agree that we should give them material support, I just don't think we should be directly involved.

I personally do not think this is the run up to the final battle. I think this is the run up to an era of peace that will come before the final battle. We may still be a number of years off. But, regardless, I think we should be prepared for an era of sadness all over the world as these evil things happen.

I have heard it argued, I do not agree with it, but I have heard that they may have allowed this to happen so they, the Arab world, can be justified in letting Israel solve the issue permanently. Many Arab leaders seem a little tired of the whole Hamas and Hezbollah issue and are ready to bring it to an end.

A possible new approach?
Emmanuel Goldstein replied to askandanswer's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
it is more important to study the book and it's teachings, and then to follow them. It is possible to get sidelined in our efforts to figure out the exact locations. Besides, we know that the entirety of the Book of Mormon took place on Vancouver Island. -
We do not need to be involved in this war. Israel can handle it themselves. But, I do stand for Israel.

But Mormons Are Christian Too!
Emmanuel Goldstein replied to clbent04's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
It depends on our definition of Christian? If you mean belief in the trinity, then no, we are not christian. We are followers of the Way of Christ, like the ancient followers of Christ called themselves. -
I believe you.

"In like manner, what will your seeking open for you? What wisdom do you lack? What do you feel an urgent need to know or understand? Follow the example of the Prophet Joseph. 1. Find a quiet place where you can regularly go. 2. Humble yourself before God. 3. Pour out your heart to your Heavenly Father. 4. Turn to Him for answers and for comfort. 5. Pray in the name of Jesus Christ about your concerns, your fears, your weaknesses—yes, the very longings of your heart. 6. And then listen! Write the thoughts that come to your mind. Record your feelings and follow through with actions that you are prompted to take. As you repeat this process day after day, month after month, year after year, you will “grow into the principle of revelation.” -President Russell M. Nelson, "Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives", April 2018 General Conference.

Goodness, Gracious, Great Ball(ard)s of Fire!!!!
Emmanuel Goldstein replied to Just_A_Guy's topic in General Discussion
There seem to be a lot of "apparently" and "maybe" comments around this story. I have seen nothing official come out on what Tim was supposedly involved in and whether it is true or not. I will wait for the truth to come out before passing judgement. It is interesting that this all came out when rumors began to circulate that Tim was considering a Senate run? -
Was the Fruit in Lehi's Dream an Olive?
Emmanuel Goldstein replied to Emmanuel Goldstein's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Maybe that is why Lehi said that. It was a surprise to him. -
I was recently reading about Lehi's dream and Jacob Chapter 5 and had the thought that the fruit of the tree of life is a White Olive. Just based on the symbolic meaning of the olive in scripture. https://rsc.byu.edu/vol-1-no-1-2000/autumn-olives-atonement
