  1. I joke around that the world would be a better place if everyone took time out of their day to enjoy chocolate milk. I am a huge fan and have encouraged those around me to have some and have noticed good results. You should try it. In all seriousness though, if people could recognize their divine potential than this world would be a better place. Why cannot people, myself included, remember they are children of God. Do they not realize how incredibly awesome that is. What power we can have if we do what is right! How happy we would be! I have found that it is too easy to focus on the day to day things and loose the eternal perspective. I get caught up with work and home that I let those things that matter most slip to the wayside. One day I may get it through my thick skull and have my priorities in order. Till then I will keep trying. Anyone feel this way or is it just some unique rantings of someone bored at work?
  2. Amen the that one. Be flattered she wants to share with you something that means so much to her but just tell her all in due time, yours not hers
  3. Don't worry about having a problem that is unique only to you. It seems this is common and it is hard for me as well. Something that I have found that works for me is this; if I picture myself actually talking to someone (which prayer is) I find that I get less distracted and the prayers go better. It makes it much more personal to me and seems to work well
  4. I have found as long as I feel the individual is trustworthy and keeps up with their medical issues than it would be okay. Good luck in those endeavors and congrats on the upcoming marriage
  5. I agree that stocking and storing medicine is a tough issue. Most medicines for long term usage have a refill on them. As a result it may be possible to have a month or two on supply. I would talk to your medical provider about your concern as you dont want them to get a letter from your insurance company asking why you are filling all these scripts.
  6. Actually I think you just put your thumb on the pad by the door and you get in. Or perhaps a retina scanner. That way you could not use another person's pin
  7. Great to hear. I am amazed at what he has done and what he went through. Have you seen the video Praise to the Man. I would highly recommend it. Also check out this on youtube. YouTube - Joseph Smith and William W. Phelps
  8. Great another book to add to my never ending list of books. However that is never a bad thing.
  9. I agree Father knows best. It is only my foolish pride that sometimes leads me to believe that I know what is best. I am usually wrong though.
  10. I would have to say the San Diego temple, since doing baptisms, endowments, and working as an ordinance worker there. Cant figure out how to insert a picture but there certainly some great pictures on San Diego California LDS (Mormon) Temple Wallpaper Gallery
  11. By my works ye shall no me. How did that work out for strange? A very sarcastic remark so I hope I dont offend
  12. Elder Neal A Maxwell said this in his book Not My Will, but Thine -"The existing scriptures make mention of more than twenty other books that will yet be restored (see Nephi 19:10-16) " He mentions of few of them by name but I cannot find it so I hesitate if writing it for fear of misquoting. I believe though that they will not come forth because we cannot even fully utilize and understand what we have in the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price
  13. Rekhyt2238- I have been trying to follow the thread to see if your question has been answered. It seems it became quite jumbled because I came in on the middle of all this. I am willing to give it a shot if you feel like your question has been answered. Personally I feel like someone needs to develop a testimony of our Father and His Son. After that a key for belief in the restored gospel is finding out for yourself if Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God. Do that and then you can find better understand the meat of the Gospel and not just the milk. That is my 2 cents on this thread
  14. I dont know how many are receiving promptings for home storage and to get their house in order and although I haven't received any promptings I tend to worry about the state of the world around me. I have been trying to get my wife to focus more on becoming independent. We had a great trial the other day as my in-laws power went out. You should have seen how helpless they were (as I know I would). I need to reevaluate my status and see if I could live even a few hours without power. Bottom line to my rambling start now and never stop like those on this board who are a good example for us all
  15. Yeah I think WW Phelps tribute in Praise to the Man is such a great song on so many different levels. Great quotes included in your posts Hemidakota
  16. Thanks for the info. I have found it very useful. I am one of those building up the supply slowly but surely. I have not heard of cool water heating system. What does that do for the food.
  17. From what I have heard in the past and then read those quotes from the link you submitted I would say yes that the Maori people are decendents of Hagoth. Having spent time amongst many Maoris they agree with that statement
  18. Is it just me or does it seem a bit odd to have food that requires one to add water to. I have seen these long term food storage products and wonder if they are a good idea. I am still in the early stages of my storing but am at the point I need to start collecting stuff that will last long term. Has anyone had any experience with these products. Would you recommend them or do you have other ideas that work better.
  19. Do I use an oxidizer if I were to put them in the number ten cans. I like those because they are more compact and I find they are easier to store and I imagine easier to transport in case of an emergency requiring us to leave the area. Thanks for the info
  20. Alright wise board I need some help. I have recently purchased some food storage items (beans, wheat, oats, etc) that were in a large 25 lb bag. What is the best way to convert that to something that will last a long time. I have heard whisperings of using white storage containers. Any ideas? Thanks
  21. I agree that some are naturally better teachers than others. I have fought myself debating whether to teach out of the manual, add extra material or do my own thing. I have come to the personal conclusion that it works best for me if I stick to the manual but add in stuff through my own preparing. However what I HATE are those that stand up and say well please help me out because I just started preparing this last night. It is like a button and I tune out. Dont tell me even if it is true.
  22. Hey was my EFY counselor back in the day. He has some good stuff and I would recommend it.
  23. I have heard the 30 years old thing regarding John as well and thanks to a-train dong a good job with references I will refrain
  24. Thanks, the info has been very useful and I appreciate all your responses.
  25. I know the grocery store is what everyone is thinking when they read the title of this entry. However I am more interested in purchasing a water drum and was wondering if anyone has bought one before and would recommend it. Thanks
