  1. Congratulations on your little one. Make sure you teach him the things he needs to learn so he can return home. And please kiss his cheeks for me.
  2. Every time I see this thread title I get "It's a Small World" stuck in my head. ARRGGG
  3. Catholics have adoration. It's where people go into a room to pray before the consecrated host. I've been to adoration and it's got a good feeling to it.
  4. When my son was about 14 I made the mistake of going into his bedroom. He had a few aquariums and they each had at least one snake in them. I told him to put them in our garden but they couldn't stay in the house. When he went back to get them one had gotten out. That son recently turned 32 and we still don't know where that snake went.
  5. "What is one thing that you really want in life?" For my life to have mattered to others.
  6. My 7th great uncle, Obediah Denham, founded a town in Ohio and allowed no slave owners to buy lots or to be members of the church. The rumors passed down in the family are that it was a 'station' in the underground railroad but I don't know where to look for proof.
  7. I've seen one, kind of close. It was a long time ago and I still wonder what it could possibly have been.
  8. JohnOF123, pay no attention to the black helicopters landing in your back yard....they are only there to help you.....
  9. Thank you amd yeah, I cried again. There's something so sad and touching about knowing we all have that little bit inside that makes it possible to dance with a stranger and let it all go for a while, even in the Korean DMZ.
  10. I saw a youtube video of a guy dancing in different places across the world. I don't know why but it touched me so that I cried. I don't normally cry much but that got to me.
  11. That's what I'm going to do. If others in the ward can speak to them and help them understand then that will have to do. I'm out of it now because anything else I might say or do would probably just add fuel to the already out of control fire. I hate to give up but it is time. Thanks everyone for the concern and good advice. I tend to get tunnel vision and think I can fix things when I can't. You've helped me see that it's time to let it go.
  12. I had a few episodes of sleepwalking when my twins were babies. It can be caused by a lack of sleep so make sure hubby is getting plenty. I do have a brother who has always sleepwalked but he's never gotten hurt or anything. He usually just checks out the refrigerator and then goes back to bed. This brother also sleeps with his eyes partially open....kinda always creeped me out.
  13. I once left for 12 years. Didn't pray, didn't read scripture, didn't attend church. The first time I prayed God was right there. He hadn't moved at all. Come on back, it's His church not the ward mission leaders.
  14. He has also threatened to sue me in civil court and there is a chance he can find an attorney to take his case. He has sued several people in the past and is suing someone right now. If I can get him to see reality he won't do this. If he does sue me then maybe the best defense is a good offense and once he's charged with these things he'll have less of a chance of success in suing me. The other part of the situation is that I'm worried what will happen to them in a couple of weeks when the food runs out and the church isn't there to help them. They really don't seem to be able to take care of themselves. I've been praying and haven't gotten an answer so maybe I should ask if doing nothing is what I should do. Maybe the answer is to do nothing and it'll blow over. I just want there to be something I can do to fix this.
  15. The detective called me on Saturday and told me he had been to this couple's home and told them he wouldn't accept charges against me. The man was not happy. He called me after the detective left and threatened to go to the DA and file charges, says I violated his space and he'll never go to church again because the Bishop told him to back off. He's threatening to go to the newspaper and do whatever it takes to "tear your world up, Lady". He also says he had a stroke Saturday morning and it's my fault. I'm not worried he'll do anything to me legally but I have some concern he might show up at church and try to do something stupid. I'm trying to decide now if I should tell the Animal Control Officer to go ahead and issue the tickets ($245.00 per dog for not having the state mandated rabies shots) and charge him with animal cruelty or if I should get someone from church to help me talk to him and help him see that it was out of my control once the officer saw the horrible condition of those first 8 dogs. BTW, 10 have died now but it looks as though at least 3 of the last 4 will live and maybe all 4 will make it.
  16. I was rooting for the Colts but I have to say it was a great game and the best team did win. Both teams played great and I was on the edge of my seat until the last 44 seconds.
  17. What's the typical way for Jewish people to end their prayers?
  18. I just got off the phone with a Deputy from the Sheriff's office. This couple wants to file charges against me for stealing 5 dogs. I don't know where the number 5 comes from but after talking to me the deputy is going to go talk to the animal control officer and look at the pictures before proceeding with anything. He did say he thought there was something 'off' about the man. I wonder if I should just slip out after the Sacrament is passed and go home this coming Sunday.... Rats, I haven't even had a speeding ticket in years.
  19. The Bishop is already in contact with APS and has been for several weeks. I don't know the details of what makes it take so long.
  20. I think, if we were really fast, we could smoke one joint before the Prophet came out against it.
  21. Smile and walk away it is then unless the Bishop has some other way for me to handle it. I think he'll agree though.
  22. Sadly, 4 of the last 6 dogs I picked up have heart worms so bad that they may not be able to be treated. If they end up dying that will only leave 4 out of 14. This couple has spent the last two days getting people to take them to the police, the Sheriff, the SPCA and to lawyers offices....I've had a few calls from members telling me to be careful because the man says he prayed and God has told him I'm evil. Sheeesh I will be talking to the Bishop Friday evening.
  23. That might work since we sent 4 of the remaining dogs to a shelter in a different town.
