  1. If you live in South Texas near Houston I would be willing to help you later this year.
  2. I enjoyed it. Everyone who came was fun and goofy except me. I guess I'm the token normal person.
  3. Chapter 82 of Psalms is interesting, especially verse 6.
  4. I could tell you the truth but then I would have to kill you.
  5. I love things like 'the secret Mormon language". It always fun when some anti-Mormon says they used to be a member and then throws out something about the secret language or the secret priesthood meetings. It lets me know they're lying.
  6. I spent my career as a nuclear reactor operator. I loved the job but the hours were horrible. I worked with a lot of electrical engineers and they had great hours and most of them really seemed to enjoy their work.
  7. I wish the explanation in the post before this weren't so very true.
  8. Maybe it's that the more educated a person is the better the chance that they'll have a job with good insurance which makes it easier to go to the doctor. Just about every time I've ever gone to the doctor he/she has wanted to write an Rx for something.
  9. Trust me. I vacuum sealed a metric butt-ton of chocolate a little over 5 years ago. It took 4 years to eat it all.
  10. I have vacuum sealed chocolate that has tasted fresh after 4 years.
  11. I took a friend to the hospital recently for a breast biopsy which came back positive for cancer. The doctor who looked at the cells on a slide told her to stop drinking anything with caffeine in it. A few days later I took her to meet with the surgeon who will be doing her mastectomy and he told her the same thing. The surgeon said caffeine causes or enhances breast pain. I had never of of this. Anyone?
  12. I enjoyed Battleship Earth, the book. Movies are never as good as books in my opinion. Worst book for me was Job by Heinlein.
  13. Congrats! Little girls are so sweet. My advice is to never teach her how to walk or talk because you'll just spend the best part of the next 18 years asking her to be quiet and sit down. yeah, I'm joking.
  14. I watched the episode and the thing that really struck me was the laissez-faire attitude they seem to have about their religion. They actually said that they supported whatever their children wanted for themselves, whether that was polygamy or no religion at all... It just makes me think that they are just using the religion as an excuse. I'd just like to say that this is PinkPanther, Not Havejoy.... my mom never signed out of her account and I didn't realize until I posted.
  15. Not scripture but I believe the existence of the Duck Billed Platypus is proof God has a sense of humor.
  16. We were in the Bishop's office for a ward welfare meeting early one Sunday morning when just after the opening prayer had been offered a sound came from the EQ Presidents bag. It was the voice of Darth Vader saying, "Welcome to the dark side". It was his special ring tone for his wife.
  17. I have a plaque someone once gave me. It says, "If you want to tell good from evil, give it power". God gives us our free agency and allows us to use it. Satan is aggressive and tries to take it away from us. Even though Satan is aggressive the choice is still ours. I know people who have chosen to take baby steps toward Satan and gotten to the point where it's extremely hard to make the right choice again but it is still possible.
  18. Fixed that for you.
  19. They can make sure the Iranian plant doesn't have a spent fuel pool.
  20. Hi Bethiepooh. Another Texan here. Welcome to the board.
  21. CNN says Russia will be taking the spent fuel back so it can't be processed into weapons grade fuel. I don't trust Russia in most instances but I don't think they want Iran to have nuclear weapons.
  22. I thought I heard the Iranian plant already has fuel on site but that it isn't in the reactor vessel yet. I think Russia transported the fuel to Iran last week and if so the time to safely bomb that plant has passed.
  23. It was great to be able to put faces and real names to avatars and forum names. We had a good time! In case anyone cares, pinkpanther is my daughter.
  24. I talked to my foreign exchange daughter who lives near Helsinki and she tells me the temperature there is 90F which is the highest ever. BTW, those clouds look a lot like the ones we get on the Texas gulf right before a hurricane.
