  1. Well this makes no sense, the laugh option is back now.
  2. I noticed that the option to laugh at someone's post was removed. Anyone know why they modified the Website so this option was removed?
  3. What do you mean certain types of fornication that at one time were forbidden are no longer forbidden? I do not understand what you mean by this statement. To my knowledge fornication is sexual intercourse between two unmarried persons. The gospel has always taught that this is a violation of God's standard.
  4. Hello and welcome to the forums. I live in the United States and have been in this earthly existence a little over 12,425 days.
  5. I also teach Gospel Principles class presently. It has been one of my favorite callings. I have done it for about two years now.
  6. Renewal is part of the the gift of faith to be healed. This would cover physical as well as spiritual healing. If we pray for things in faith that are in the will of God we will receive them. Receiving an answer to our prayers would be part of the gift of faith. I am beginning to think my list is a fairly complete list of spiritual gifts. There are so many categories of spiritual gifts covered under the gift of wisdom.
  7. I want a few more opinions. Would the Gift of the Holy Ghost also be included in the spiritual gift list I have compiled?
  8. I didn't like Shrek 1 because of the sexual humor in it. Were the second and third movies cleaner than the first?
  9. I read the I Corinthians 12:28 scripture you posted but I don't understand. Could you elaborate on this subject?
  10. Thanks for all the responses. I am getting some good information. I do believe what you said is a spiritual gift I have not included in my list. I would call it The Gift of Beholding and Hearing Spirits. For Doctrine and Covenants Section 4: Chastity, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, and diligence are all a part of the gift of wisdom. Knowledge ia obviously covered under the the gift of knowledge. Charity and brotherly kindness are a part of the gift of charity Compassion is a part of charity, but one can possess compassion and not have charity. So I think I will also add to list compassion as number 22. So the list so far would be as follows: 1) The Gift of Faith 2) The Gift of Charity 3) The Gift of Tongues 4) The Gift of Interpretation of Tongues 5) The Gift of Translation 6) The Gift of Wisdom 7) The Gift of Knowledge 8) The Gift of Teaching Wisdom and Knowledge 9) The Gift of Knowing That Jesus Christ Is the Son of God 10) The Gift of Believing the Testimony of Others 11) The Gift of Prophecy 12) The Gift of Healing 13) The Gift of Faith to be Healed 14) The Gift of Working Miracles 15) The Gift of Discernment 16) The Gift of Beholding of Angels and Ministering Spirits 17) The Gift of Physical Strength 18) The Gift of Humility 19) The Gift of Gratitude and Joy 20) The Gift of Beholding of Dreams and Visions 21) The Gift of Beholding and Hearing Spirits 22) The Gift of Compassion
  11. Ever since I began compiling this list I have been thinking more about spiritual gifts. Some of the gifts are covered under charity. What is charity? The pure love of Christ. I would say the following gifts are included if you have charity: The Gift of Faith The Gift of Wisdom The Gift of Knowledge The Gift of Believing the Testimony of Others The Gift of Discernment The Gift of Humility The Gift of Gratitude However, one could have any of the seven above listed gifts and not have charity which is why I think they should be listed separately.
  12. Thanks for your input. I think I can add number 19 now. I can't seem to find any scripture references for this gift but I would call it the Gift of Gratitude. I can also add number 20 now. 20) The Gift of Beholding of Dreams and Visions
  13. I am looking to compile an extensive list of spiritual gifts. I would like to find at least 30 (or more if I can). Anyone add to my list? Please give a scriptural reference for the spiritual gift you are listing if you can. 1) The Gift of Faith 2) The Gift of Charity 3) The Gift of Tongues 4) The Gift of Interpretation of Tongues 5) The Gift of Translation 6) The Gift of Wisdom 7) The Gift of Knowledge 8) The Gift of Teaching Wisdom and Knowledge 9) The Gift of Knowing That Jesus Christ Is the Son of God 10) The Gift of Believing the Testimony of Others 11) The Gift of Prophecy 12) The Gift of Healing 13) The Gift of Faith to be Healed 14) The Gift of Working Miracles 15) The Gift of Discernment 16) The Gift of Beholding of Angels and Ministering Spirits 17) The Gift of Physical Strength (see Judges 14:5-6) 18) The Gift of Humility
  14. You could always move to the United States to avoid the upcoming Winter. :)
  15. It's the first day of Spring today. I just wanted to say Happy Spring to everyone. It's been a long, cold winter. I can't wait to see the green of Spring arrive.
  16. Wow. My wife and I have about $80,000 in life insurance on each other but I know it isn't enough. I have no life insurance on my kids which I probably need to get. $10,000 on each of them would be good. My wife and I currently have about $4,000 in credit card debt. The debt is at a 3 percent annual interest rate locked in for life but we hope to have it all paid off by April 2010.
  17. The black, green and grey teas are substances the Word of Wisdom prohibits to my knowledge. I would make it a matter of prayer and inquire of the Lord concerning the matter.
  18. I used to deal with a very unpleasant co-worker. He was arrogant and made very cruel remarks toward me much of the time. Others he worked around did not really like him either because of his character. I found when I prayed for him he became easier to deal with. I remember one day being at work and the Holy Spirit told me to look at some of the good attributes he had and how the Lord loved him as much as he loved me. This man eventually found a new job and moved on. He still comes back to visit at work but I don't feel any resentment for him. It is not easy to work with someone you don't particularly care for.
  19. I am sorry for this awful trial that has come into your life. I can't even imagine what you are going thru. My wife and I have been married for about seven years and I don't know what I would do if she just decided to walk out the door and leave. I suggest you fast and pray for the spiritual strength you will need to survive this.
  20. Everybody at work seemed to like this joke: There was a Bills fan, a Broncos fan, a Patriots fan, and a Chargers fan hiking to the top of a mountain. As these four crazed football fans climbed the mountain each bragged why his team was the best. The four football fans finally reached the top of the mountain. There was a beautiful view at the top and a 500 foot cliff. The Bills fan went completely crazy and screamed, "This is for the Bills!" Then he went and jumped off the cliff to his death. The Broncos fan didn't want to be outdone so he yelled, "This is for the Broncos," and plunged off the cliff headfirst to his death. The Chargers fan raised both of his hands and cried, "This is for everyone!" He then shoved the Patriots fan off.
  21. You are dealing with far more trials than I think I ever will. It is amazing what men and women can accomplish thru the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Thanks for sharing your story.
  22. These are my current system specifications for any curious (I am hoping this computer will last me until the year 2012): Processor: AMD Athlon 4600+ Dual-Core Windsor (2.4 gigahertz) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-M78SM-S2H Memory: 2 gigabytes of Super Talent PC2-6400 Video Card: MSI Radeon HD 3650 Power Supply: OCZ StealthXStream OCZ600SXS 600 Watt Operating System: 32-bit Windows Vista Service Pack 1
  23. Wow, you've got a Linux server running with those specifications? That is impressive. The most recent invention for computers I am really excited about are the solid state disk hard drives. Most current hard drives have about a 20 to 60 megabyte per second read speed. Some of the new solid state disks have a 180 megabyte per second read speed. Too bad the models that read at 180 megabytes per second are currently around $600 for an 80 gigabyte hard drive. I won't buy one until the price comes way down.
