I have a friend who is a self employed builder, but he 'contracts' out to other companies so that he is temporarily in their employment..that could be the case with Aphrodite's husband too, perhaps?

I get what you're saying Annabelli, and wouldn't be surprised if what you described was the case...however, concerning Pushka's hunting habits..if she manages to kill the mouse or bird she's after, she usually deposits it near our front door, or inside the living room, the rodents she's previously caught have been quite tiny, but this was deffo bigger..fortunately for me, my daughter bravely removed the mouse from the house, it wasn't as difficult to detach from the box as I'd imagined it would be...there's no signs of any other rodent presence (with 3 cats in the house I would be surprised to find anything but dead rodents) so hopefully we're not infested!! :)

Pale, do you fancy taking a quick trip to the UK to sort out this dead rodent problem I've got? I'm trying to figure out whether we acquired the dead mouse along with the 2ndhand packing boxes over a year ago...I just had the boxes stored in my front room, not packed tightly together, so I didn't squash the mouse...or whether my cat Pushka caught the mouse many months ago and it got stuck somehow between said boxes...it hasn't decomposed yet, so anyone got any ideas how old the corpse might be?

Guess what we discovered stuck to the side of one of our old packing boxes today? Answer: one very flat and stiff mouse!!! Question is, why did the person who sealed tape around the box this afternoon (a friend of mine) not notice the mouse just at the side of where he placed the tape? It's not as if it's a little mouse either, and its tail is sticking up over the top of that side of the box!!

:) That's because the menfolk are always out hunting and fishing! Someone has to do the yard work! This feels just like Little House on the Prairie all over again, lol!

I'm just wondering if the RS meetings still take place on Wednesday evenings in the UK and if there is a specific starting and ending time? Are the meetings the same all over the world?

Sorry to hear about your fire, but so happy to hear it wasn't a serious, life-threatning one!! Great to know that your fellow church members are there to help you when you most need it...even if you didn't know how much you needed it at the time!! :)

A person may find it easier to do what Pale (I think it was he!) suggested one can do...Cease to attend, but do not have your name removed from the records and request that you have no visitors, then if you change your mind at a later date, and want to attend again, you don't have all the extra explaining to do... There have been times during the last 25 years since I last attended the LDS Church, that I wished I'd previously become a member, so that once I'd left I could still maintain a friendship at least with the members who still attended the church, maybe I would have been persuaded to start attending the church again by now...

I think I've always felt like an outsider...I can remember standing alone in the playground at junior/primary school, and sitting alone reading in my senior school and at college...I did have some friends, but also had my 'quieter' times... Over the last 30 or so years of my life, I've tried to follow trends and fashions in order to not feel like an outsider, I've joined politically minded groups and community groups, but this feeling of being an outsider has remained.. I haven't been Baptised LDS and only practised it for 5 years, when I was the only LDS-practitioner in a Roman Catholic School, which made me even more of an outsider... Sometimes it's no fun being an outsider trying to fit in or just looking in...sometimes it's very satisfying...confusing nonetheless!!
