NBA Power Rankings

Last week was as good as it gets in the NBA. Kobe and LeBron going nuts at the Garden. Lakers-Celtics. Lakers-Cavaliers. Spurs-Celtics. By the time it was over, the fans at MSG were left catching their breath, the champs looked vulnerable again and the Lakers established themselves as the league's top team by completing season sweeps of the other two NBA superpowers. (The Magic fall out of that category with Jameer Nelson's injury.) Records are through games of Monday, Feb. 9

(41-9) Last Week: Beat the Raptors (115-107), Celtics (110-109) and Cavaliers (101-91).

The wins in Boston and Cleveland were especially impressive for two reasons. They came on the end of a six-game road trip, when teams are usually tired. And Kobe didn't have to play great in either game. Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom, the softies in last year's Finals, made the difference by outplaying the big men for the Celtics and Cavs.
