DavidFilmer Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Greetings. My (real) name is David Filmer. I am a Catholic (a convert from a protestant faith). I hope that I will not be unwelcome here as I attempt to gain a further understanding of Mormon doctrines which relate to my Catholic faith. Of particular interest to me is the Mormon teaching regarding the Great (Total) Apostasy. I have searched this forum and have seen this topic discussed before, but there are aspects of it which I have not seen addressed. So I will open a thread in an appropriate forum to discuss this matter. I welcome any participation. Cheers! Quote

MarginOfError Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Have you ever seen Disney's Beauty and the Beast? This site is a lot like that movie. At some point we all start dancing around, grabbing pitch forks and torches, all the while singing very merrily the song "Kill the Catholic". And then we get to the Catholic castle and all the little gadgets (various items representing common sense) beat us up. After a little while we then discover that inside every Catholic is a beautiful human being who is much more attractive than any other man we've seen in the movie so far.So if you ever feel like we're picking on you, it just means that we're jealous of how beautiful you are.Welcome to the site! May silliness ensue! Quote

Guest Magoo Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Hey David, didn't you see the sign: "ye Catholics who enter here, abandon all hope until ye submit to the lash until conversion"! But you are our friend so we'll dispense with the lash. You must, however, prostrate yourself in our presence. Quote
