What Are You Giving This Year?

I have an old college friend that I hardly ever see anymore, but every year we exchange Christmas greetings. Over the years he has stayed with the idea that the only real gift is the gift of yourself. All others are cheep imitations. Every year at this time I make an entry in my journal concerning my gift to the Christ Child. How well my gift was given over the last year and what specific gift I plan for this year. Just thought I would ask what are some of you giving to the Christ Child this year?

The wise men from the east came to bring gifts. Some say that this is the beginning of giving gifts at Christmas. We give gifts to friends and family, I wondered if others think of giving something to Christ at this time of year.

Home Teaching. It has been a tough spot for me ever since I started doing it at age 12. Now that I am 23 and have a junior comanion at age 16 I have committed myself to that no matter what. It isn't just about time, either. It is really about breaking from the shell I live in and opening up to people about Jesus Christ and His gospel. I have some families that are going to be a challenge for me, but I know that the reward is great.....for me and for them.

Gotta agree about the short women remarks, especially if the women are bold, now that's hot.

Anyways, what I meant is that people look down upon me for not giving in December when I've given the same of myself in December that I have in any other month. My mom's husband even threatened me a few times, and screwed up my sleep patterns to let me know how he felt. Why must I be hypocritically charitible like everyone else? Why can't I give of myself as much as I have in every other month?

Compassion for others..... but that isn't just kept inside for Christmas time..... it's spread thoughout the year. (isn't that what we are supposed to do? )
