KatieO Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Hi, I'm Katie. I figured I should introduce myself. I'm from Bothell, Wa. I was baptised on the 22nd of November 2008, so I'm a pretty new member. My other half's family are members, but none in my family. I really love the church, I'm trying to strengthen my testimony, but the lifestyle changes are diffcult for me sometimes. Mostly because all my friends are non members so it's a little lonely when you dont want to be around drinking and partying. Well I hope to talk to some of you guys on here and maybe make some new friends.... :) Quote
Truegrits Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Hello Katie :) WELCOME to the site. Hope you enjoy your time here. Quote
lusciouschaos Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Welcome Katie, This is a good place to discuss the gospel. Quote
jolee65 Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Welcome, KatieO Im a member for 8 yrs and yes its difficult at times staying grounded, I used to hang with a faster crowd and yes, it can be difficult to enjoy things in the same way because that was a way to entertain yourself, me too. I continue to go out to resturants that may serve liquor and order water with lemon , im not a pop drinker but only juice, water or milk. I find working out at the gym is a great release because most of the people at the gym really disaplin themselves and hanging with a athletic girlfriend is best because women have that silent competition with one another, so staying out of the bars and smoke free is more of a competition. marshac Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 KatieO- welcome fellow Washingtonian! I love the Bothell area, especially the Kirkland waterfront on a friday summer's eve. Bliss. You could come hang out with my wife and I on the other side of the state... we can talk about how much we miss starbucks. Quote
Guest missingsomething Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Welcome Katie! Time to make some new friends! You've found a great place to start! Quote
Hemidakota Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Adding to the rest of the coverts here, I am been one for now 30 plus years and never regretted that moment. I had learned to adjust and take back my own life vice serving to my friends and the world. IF we want to know the same exactness as Joseph Smith First Vision, we are entitled to it if we are wiling make that step of worldly change and commit our lives and will to the FATHER. You will find other great and loyal friends that you can truly depend on - too include many here on this forum. As Missingsomething stated, "You've found a great place to start!" Quote

Madriglace Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 Thanks for the welcome.... Did the floods affect you very badly this year?Actually we live a little south of the flood area so we were high and dry but the floods in the Chehalis Valley were very fast ... up one day and down in another ... people were ready this time and while there was some damage nothing like Dec of '07 ... that was a mess. the flood area ia encompassed in our Stake. The out pouring of support and work was enough to have our Stake Pres floating! Quote
