Wingnut
Does LDS doctrine believe in a literal Anti-Christ?Not that I'm aware of. Most LDS that I know are more concerned with anti-Christs, hundreds or thousands of people who will lead away 2 or 3 of the faithful at a time, rather than one charismatic figure who takes half the Church with him. I know that many Christians believe in a literal Anti-Christ that will deceive the world.

DigitalShadow
I guess.....but how did he sell so much hatred?? I'm not exactly a history buff, but from what I've heard, there was already a lot of anti-Jew sentiment and Hitler just capitalized on that, giving people a scape goat to blame all their problems on. I don't think he so much "sold" the hatred as he utilized it to accomplish his goals.

At the holocaust museum in Tampa there was a display from a boatload of jews (a couple of hundred IIRC) who tried to come to the USA as things were getting bad and "we" told them to turn around. Most ended up at Auschwitz. BTW Hitler didn't capitalize on that. The National socialist party was all ready in the swing of things and they used his great orator skills. Hitler didn't cause the NAZI to hate Jews anymore then Barrack caused the Democrats to want to expand social programs.

beefche
I read "The Diary of Anne Frank" a few years ago. I was amazed at how subtle the Nazi's were to identify and then isolate any undesirables.

Elgama
a good portion of Hitler's voters were Jewish guess they didn't read the manifesto, the country was poor and desperate. Hitler accomplished a lot for Germany in amongst the evil, they still have the AutoBahn etc..... Hitler himself was not antisemetic - he had good relations with individual Jews prior to going into politics it was a Jewish Officer that recommended him for the Iron Cross in World War 1. He needed a scapegoat and he picked the easiest one, Germany was not the first country to have Jewish Ghettos or blame them for problems. In early Europe Christians could not lend money for interest, so Jews were money lenders, this image was still around when my Gran was little, my Great Aunty Alice came from family of Jewish money lenders why the family disapproved of them despite them being wealthy but my Great Uncle Jimmy's family being poor -Charley
