I heard about this story and could not belive it and have not been able to find a link to it...but...here is what happened.....

A guy living in Sandusky, Ohio noticed the grass was getting overgrown at the local park, in fact it was a foot high.He then went and fired up his lawn mower and began to cut the grass. Soon after he started the Police showed up and arrested him for "disorderly conduct" and "obstructing official buisness". He pleaded "not guilty". The city manager said, he was arrested because there are employee issues with unions that are suppose to cut the grass. His next hearing is in August and he plans to fight city hall.

The story did go on to say it was reported by WTJ-TV.

There are two parts to this story that we need to pay attention to. First is the understanding of balance of powers in our Republic. The courts do not have the power to exercise good sense – nor do the police. They are bound by law and must uphold the law. It does not matter what makes good sense, what matters is; what is the law. In general laws are drafted by legislative order. There is another possibility and that is by executive order.

The second thing we need to understand is there is one other opportunity for good sense when legislative order and judicial powers are causing undue burdens upon citizens. That is the power of a jury. Regardless of what the law says or requires a jury can through the whole thing out releasing the hold on the accused and forcing the law process to “start all over”. However, we have decided that the powers of jury in our society should be centered in the lowest common denominators in our society. Thus many juries are have elements of welfare level citizens incapable of governing even their own lives – let alone taking upon the burdens of society. This often leaves an important element of our freedom in the hands of slick, greedy, power hungry and corrupt lawyers pushing forward an agenda contrary to the liberty of citizens.
