What do you do with all those hand outs, little pieces of paper with quotes, etc. that are handed out during classes? I hate to throw them away, but I need a better solution than collecting them in my scripture bag and using as bookmarks for my scriptures. Does anyone have any neat ideas?

sorry can't help ya, i throw mine away. though i do think that's a much better solution than those that throw them on the floor or collect them under their seats (and then leave them their).

As someone who issues handouts frequently, I'd just like to say that I'm not offended when they end up in the trash.

I provide them for the class to help them focus, to give them something to talk about with their family over dinner, etc... but realize that any given handout might only strike a chord in one person a week - and that's okay by me.

thank you prodigal son for mentioning that. i don't expect anyone to cherish anything i hand out, which is why i don't feel obligated to cherish the things handed to me. there are a few that have inspired me that i have kept.

i teach youth sunday school and when i hand things out i actually ask them to give it back if they don't want it, that way i can throw it away myself and it doesn't end up all over the chapel or on the floor of the car or in their room for mom's to clean up. lol sometimes they do actually keep them.

You could laminate the ones you really like & use them as bookmarks in other books as well as your scriptures..

I can remember a member family in my home down who had thier bathroom door full of all the good ones... And another who had thier fridge door full of the one they really liked.. Some were really ancient ones.. hehe..

You could also recylcle them of give the blank side - if big enogh - to your kiddies to use for thier drawings

If it's a quote or scripture or a story that I really like and would like to use for future reference: I retype it into a file I keep on my computer for references. I couldn't begin to hold onto all the handouts I've received through out the years.

I do use the Folio database engine to store articles and electronic books. makes it easier to search out phrases and quotes later on when needed.

I got a little compact photo album (with the little celephane sleeves) and just collect them in there. Then when I need quotes and stuff for talks, devotionals, lessons, etc...they're all there. They can also be glued into your journal as well. It would be very nice to read your reflections on them during hard times...and it very well could inspire your posterity someday as well.

My hubby got a tiny notepad with a spiral binding that he can keep in his scripture case and just transposes them in there. It went with him on his mission and everything...Whenever he's put on the spot he just whips out his little notebook and he's good.

I like this one! I can stick a little glue stick in my bag and pop them in there right then!
