Wow, it is 105 degrees outside right now!!! High record for the day is 107, we may just make it. This just doesn't happen here in the great northwest very often. Lots of people here do not have AC in their houses!

The sign at the Methodist church next door to work says... "Think this is HOT??":D

Yeh my mom called me just outside of Portland this morning and said it was blazing hot there. She's on a road trip through Oregon.

haha Just realized what I said. "blazing" has no reference to the Portland Trail"Blazers" mind you.

I've been trying to get a hike in at Mount Adams for the last two weeks but it's just been too hot to do it. At least I know that i will not find any snow on the roads there when I go back up for the hike.

Mt Raineer is on my summer to-do list, as are the ape caves. Bring lots of sunscreen while in the mtns :)

I'm SO glad we bought an A/C unit this Spring! Our first year in our seven years of PNW life that we've owned one.

To any of the people outside of WA who are scratching their heads about why this 100*+ weather is such a big deal. It's because it's RARE here. 80*'s is our more typical summer temperature. The majority of homes here (even new homes!) don't come with A/C, because you can usually get by just fine with ceiling fans and opening the windows up at night.

All the stores here are sold out of window A/C units. A few of the chain stores (Home Depot, etc.) have been commendeering the coastal stores' stock of A/C's and fans to sell here, because their temps are still just in the 70's and 80's. It's nuts.

One way to have testimony that it was not that hot, would be to ask if today was related to global warming in your Priesthood meeting.

That's gotta be miserable with the humidity.

I am originally from Virginia, and believe me, these people don't know what humidity is!! Right now it's only 22%, so not too bad at all. I remember these type temps with 100% humidity. Don't even want to think about that. That is miserable!

Okay I'll bite. I have no idea what PNW stands for.

All my family is in Tacoma Wa area or Portland Or or Sacramento Ca. I'm in Santa Cruz. MUAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA. It's 74 degrees here, in the morning there's a little over cast so it's a little chilly, but it burns off and our perfect day starts. Ahhhhh.
