I'm new to this board, but what I see looks very interesting and often very uplifting. I'm not new to the Church, I've always known it was true. I served a mission to Germany when there were still two German countries. My wife and I have been married 35 years and our four children are now grown. We have 4 grandchildren with 1 more expected in late September. I've served in the Sunday School, Primary(my favorite), Elder's Quorum, High Priest's Group, Bishopric and in the Stake Presidency through the years.

I became ill with a chronic illness about 9 years ago and had to "retire" due to my illness. It wasn't something I had scheduled into my planner, but I guess these things are almost always unexpected. Sacrament Meeting is about the only meeting I can attend these days and I only get there about once or twice a month. Sitting or standing for very long is really hard. But, I've grown closer to the Lord in the last few years than ever before. I've done a lot of Family History research and submitted quite a few family names to the Temple and often "know" which families are waiting for their work to be done and how to find their information. My wife reads the microfilm rolls in our local Family History Library and helps with the research and with TempleReady.

I look forward to meeting others and perhaps helping with questions on occasion.
