Tarnished Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 (edited) People who rush me, rushing me leads to no good things, and it only makes me cranky, it does not make me move any faster. People who pass me on the interstate when I am already going slightly over the speed limit. Had an amusing example of this happen. I was driving late at night in icy conditions in the left lane on the interstate. I was driving carefully but going the speed limit. A truck came up behind me, but couldn't pass because there was another car to our right so in the meantime the truck tailgated me. Once the other car was out of the way he quickly tried to pass me, but ended up spinning out instead, the truck spun a 180 and ended up facing the opposite direction in the emergency lane on the right hand side of the interstate. I got to watch it all happen through my rear view mirror. Thankfully his stupid behavior did not result in him getting hurt, just shaken up. Loud people, I am a pretty quiet person and when someone is being loud it really grates on me. Ignorant people, people who make ignorant comments about the world and show no intent to change the way they think. For example my conversation with an older co-worker this morning. Me: I see no point in printing off an e-mail when I am just going to throw it away, why waste the paper? Her: Well, it is easier for me to read off paper instead of reading off the computer. And besides I'm from the older generation so I don't really see the point in saving paper. I just don't care. Edit: Felt the need to add this one. People who feel like socializing when I am trying to finish something that is due soon at work, doesn’t it look like I am busy with something, doesn’t it look like maybe some other time would be a good time to stop by and talk? And if I am not looking at you, or if I make short comments like, “a huh” while not looking at you but rather at my computer, why don’t you get that I don’t want to talk, and really don’t have time to talk. Please don’t sit there watching me do my work just because you want a break from yours. It is slightly creepy and more than a little annoying. I deal with sensitive material that should not be shoulder surfed, back off and get back to your own desk. Sorry for the rant but this is a current pet peeve that is showing up quite often today. MichaelCraig Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Pam, you missed something about the Dr's appointment. All that wait to see a Dr.... and all they actually have to see you is a PA, BUT... you get the bill later and they've charged you for being seen by the "real" Dr. Ah.... EXCUUUUUSE MEEEE!!!! If I'm payin the REAL Dr rates... I'm GETTIN a REAL Dr to see me and he's NOT just walkin in sayin 4-5 words and poof he's gone. At LEAST put that cold little thingy on my chest and ACT like you're checking to see if my hearts still beating. SHEESH!!!!! What.. $75-$80 a pop! I've gotten better service from my local vet. Think I'll start going to him when I'm sick. Quote

Mine costs $175 a visit!! I do see the real Doc- not a PA or nurse though. My Diabetic Counselor only costs $45 a visit - and it is for an hours worth of instruction, tests, . . . counseling. Fortunately, my co-pay is $15 each visit. Insurance picks up the rest, after they have discounted a certain percentage. Quote

There's a reason you never see a medical practice with only PAs and/or APRNs. The real doctor's name is on the bill because the coding has to be done that way. If you're only being charge $75-$80, however, you're not being charged for doctor's services. Quote
mnn727 Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 My ultimate pet peeve is when people ask if I'm in a bad mood. If I'm in a bad mood them asking won't help. If I'm not, them thinking I am might make me in a bad mood. .You're right, nothing gets me in a bad mood faster than people asking me if I'm in a bad mood.Worst pet peeves though involve drivers - stupid drivers like people making a right turn waiting until they can get into the far left lane rather than turning into the near lane and merging over when they can. I live near a 6 lane city road (3 lanes each way) that is one of the main N/S roads in my 'burb and this happens all the time. Also people driving slow enough that they just barely make it through a light but nobody behind them can - and I am talking way below the speed limit. And of course the ever popular person talking on the cell phone oblivoust to everything around them - one hand holding their cell phone to their ear and the other gesturing- like they can't talk without gesturing. As long as in their credentially process with us, we had a record of who the supervising physician would be. Quote
dazed-and-confused Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 one MAJOR pet peeve of mine is when a supervisor, who is stuck on stupid, contradicts their own rules or instructions............................................ Quote

All that wait to see a Dr.... and all they actually have to see you is a PA,What's wrong with a PA?I was just talking with my wife, she is in an accelerated PA program right now (not exactly, same program less pay, complicated military stuff) and just had a follow up with a patient from last week. Last week the Dr's diagnosis trumped my wifes diagnosis of a patient . Patient came back and was retested verifying my wife's original diagnosis. More school doesn't equal better care.(I know your issue was more with the money, but i just had to brag:D) Quote

As long as in their credentially process with us, we had a record of who the supervising physician would be.I did medical billing and coding a few years ago, and we were instructed to always attach the supervising physician's name to the invoice. There were two spots -- one for the provider who saw the patient, and one for the supervising physician. If it was the doctor to begin with, that field would just default to them. Quote

Just saying how we handled it. We already had that information in our system, so if it wasn't included we had it already and didn't have to request that information and hold up the processing of the claim. Quote

If i had 4 inch letters on the back of my shorts they would extend to the top of my calfs. I kinda look like the ferret in your pic. Torso 3 x longer then my legs. Except my fur is darker:) Quote

mnn727 Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 I always find it humorous having someone whip around you in traffic because they are in a hurry..so you get up to the light and you are right behind them. Yeh buddy...you got somewhere quicker than me. You get to sit at the light longer.yeah, but at least we're in front of you Quote
RipplecutBuddha Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 People that take a full cart to the self-check out lanes...then end up making the attendant stand at the register and clear all the faults as they occur...toatlly defeating the purpose of having attendant-free check out lanes in the first place...while I stand in line behind them with a jug of milk and some oreos. Bluejay Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Closed shower curtains when no one is taking a shower. You know what one of my pet peeves is?Mildew on the shower curtains because somebody didn't spread them out to dry properly. Quote
Iggy Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Water on the floor of the bathroom because someone wasn't careful with the shower curtain. That is why my shower curtain is long enough to reach the floor of the tub! I also have TWO shower curtains up to insure that the sides are sufficently closed. AND still there is water on the floor- ICK EEEwwww I really hate wet floor rugs and mats. Wet and messy bathroom sinks. That is why there are paper towels on the inside of the sink cabinet- please use them to clean up and dry the sink after you shave/brush your teeth and wet your hair as you comb it. People who use my good and expensive towels to dry the mirrors, clean the sink and wipe down the shower wall. There is a squeegee hanging in the shower, there are paper towels under the sink- I have shown you all this as I gave you your towels and told you how our funky shower works. Quote
ozzy Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Ooo ooo ooo, another one is when people make demands of others, and the blatantly disregard the demand themselves. If they care so much they should follow their own advice/admonishment. Quote
Dravin Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 You sure that's the shower curtain and simply not people stepping out of the tub wet? Or is it too much water for that? Quote

pam Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 I hate the ads on tv that state get your free sample "absolutely free." But require a fee for shipping. You're getting the product free but you have to pay for shipping. So to me that's not absolutely free. Quote
