Tarnished Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 I go tomorrow to be artificially inseminated at my fertility clinic. Wish me luck and keep me in your prayers! If this does not work then we will be doing In Vetro Fertilization in May. Quote
pam Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 I wish you the best of luck and hope it works for you. Quote

Tarnished Posted March 4, 2010 Author Report Posted March 4, 2010 One insemination down, one more to go. Once tomorrow is done we will have my blood drawn on the 18th to see whether or not it worked. We are pretty excited about it all!! Quote
Faded Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 GO US!!! Okay, go Tarnished, I'm just a spectator here, LOL. But if all goes well, I can finally be a daddy!! Quote

crazypotato Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 Tarnished, Acupuncture helps your uterine lining to thicken, relaxes your system and balances your hormones, and helps with stress. It has really helped with some of my IF problems. Quote
Maureen Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 Good luck Tarnished! Is this your first try at insemination? I also went through intrauterine insemination to get pregnant. In the '80's the average amount of inseminations to go through before success was about 4 months. I was successful after 2 months (2 inseminations per cycle/month). Inseminations are definitely cheaper than IVF. M. Quote

Unfortunately for us insemination though cheaper for our insurance is more expensive in one way for us. It requires more vials than IVF does. Since we only have 12 to work with we are hesitant to do more than one AI attempt as each AI attempt uses 2 vials and each IVF attempt only uses one vial. I am kind of hoping that the AI works on this attempt because I hear it is much less intrusive than IVF is. Quote

If your doctor can determine with somewhat good precision when you ovulate, your chances are good. I believe IVF can be quite intrusive. Good luck again!M. Quote
Nikkie85 Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 Best Wishes! I also suffer from infertility and know how hard it can be! Just know that everything will work out and one way or another you will be parents. Quote
Tarnished Posted March 6, 2010 Author Report Posted March 6, 2010 Thanks! That is what we have been trying to keep in mind, that one way or another we will become parents. Quote
confuzzled Posted March 6, 2010 Report Posted March 6, 2010 Infertlity has been my burden/trial as well. Good Luck! Quote
Faded Posted March 8, 2010 Report Posted March 8, 2010 Infertlity has been my burden/trial as well.Good Luck!Of course, infertility ISN'T Tarnished burden exactly. Lead-up testing at the fertility clinic confirmed that she is "perfect." Their words not mine, so it's not me just bragging about my wife. I'm the problem of course. Zero bullets in the gun. Sperm count = "What sperm, I don't see any?" Yeah, chemotherapy, especially at bone marrow transplant levels of chemotherapy is very, very bad for reproductive organs. Good thing we planned ahead, right? Quote
Tarnished Posted March 18, 2010 Author Report Posted March 18, 2010 Turns out I am not pregnant. Our next step is In Vetro which we will be trying in May. More waiting... Quote
Faded Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 Well, I guess now we move on to the higher % chance options. Artificial insemination chances of success = 20%. In vitro fertilization chances of success = 40-50%. We'll get there. Ball is already rolling for in vitro, just as we planned. This is just a speed bump. Quote
SMG Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 Sending good wishes and good vibes your way! =D Quote
Maureen Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 Good luck Tarnished and Faded. Sometimes the hardest part is the waiting. I will send good thoughts and prayers your way. M. Quote
Guest mormonmusic Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 We did that to have our first child and it worked like a charm. And now we have a little girl whose growing up to be a beautiful young woman. I'm glad we did it! Good luck!!! Quote
Tarnished Posted May 9, 2010 Author Report Posted May 9, 2010 Thanks, the Artificial Insemination didn't work, so we are now working at trying In Vetro Fertilization (IVF) I just had the procedure yesterday to remove eggs from me. So far so good. Tuesday (May 11th) is when they transfer the embryos back into me. Hopefully this try works. Quote
Maureen Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 Same here Tarnished. I will be thinking of you on Tuesday, sending good thoughts. M. Quote
