It's my belief that one can expect a level of glory equivalent to how well one knows the Lord. Personally, I've decided to closely study the full Gospel of Jesus Christ in the hope that I may come to know Him well enough to adopt even His most subtle ways and so enter fully into the feelings of the eternally divine Father, thus bearing greatest witness to the light of the most glorious kingdom. I firmly believe that such a will is the essence of true Christianity, and I'm sure the prophet would agree.

PS. I look forward to being involved with your online community. I do occasionally visit my local Mormon chapel but that's much more for worship than for the type of discussion and inquiry I'm looking to make here.

Welcome to the forums...

As you progress in your search and study of the Gospel, don't forget to check out FARMS and FAIR as well as other venues provided by BYU and the Church.

I have found over the years the writings of Bruce R. McConkie and Boyd K. Packer to be very spiritually fufilling and imbued with the spirit of our Lord and Savior.

Lastly, while sites such as this can offer a good insight into the thinking of individual members, please keep an eye out for those who would rather "Gospel Hobby", than hold fast to the Iron Rod...

Oh...and next time you're in these parts, don't forget the Tim Tams...<VBG>

I'm not quite sure that I understand you. Personally, I like to avoid those pharisee-types who would accuse even perfectly anointed evangelists of crimes against God. Edited by Son_of_Joseph

There is an old Native American saying that you should not judge any person until you have walked in their "shoes" for 3 moons. I commend you for study but I would caution you with the idea that study can only take you part way. Consider more living as Jesus taught as a means to a higher level of understanding.

Each day as you study apply what you learn about Jesus to your life. If he says to love your enemies – then get involved and do it. Jesus said that if someone says they know him and do not keep his commandments they are a liar.

This is exactly my mindset. To be honest I'm already rather enlightened (thanks in part to a running commentary of voices). For me, studying Jesus' speeches is kindof a formality as I'm already well acquainted with his ghost, but I'm sure it'll still be worth it.

I can imagine Jesus shedding a tear for mankind- he allowed himself to develop great pity for his fellow man which is rare amongst the spiritually enlightened. Personally, I've discovered a new freedom by welcoming him into my life and accepting him as my savior. Dark Ages spirit turned me away from Jesus in the beginning which was a real pity, but now I'm truly his student. :) Edited by Son_of_Joseph

That sounds interesting.

Who, specifically, are these anointed evangelist of whom you speak, in what way was their anointing perfect and who, specifically, are those that accuse them?

Just want to say, SoJ, that i look forward to your continued posts.

i have read some of the above posts. I would put it this way (it's the way I learned). A spiritual search needs some study, absolutely, but even more, it needs experience. Truth is something that REALLY hits home when you EXPERIENCE it. I beleive that is what you are searching for.

Welcome, brother, from another seeker of ultimate truth/spirit.

It's just a reference to the kind of situation Jesus had to contend with. I probably should have said 'Personally, I like to avoid those pharisee-types who would accuse even Jesus of crimes against God'- I was just being a bit fancy.

And who were you referring to as pharisee-types?

Who would you say are the Pharisees of our era?

Welcome to the forum...as converts, it is our searching beliefs in finding the FATHER all will be answered. However, I have learned, that is not so. Over time through spiritual maturity, it comes gradually to a member. Yet, I can chalked this up to DESIRE, HOPE, FAITH, ACTION, and when we finally surrender our ‘WILL’, it is then it becomes quite clear who and what is the gospel is about. The answers become easier to that person and the day of facing GOD becomes a reality.

What is a true christian? One who learns to walk in the same footsteps as the Master.

I firmly believe that you shouldn't judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes.

Because then, when you judge them, you're a mile away and they're barefoot.

Plus, hey... Free shoes.

Along with the request (not to S2k2G) to clarify who exactly are the pharisee-types, I'd like to know who the gospel hobbyists are.
