hordak Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Depends when it is used. For religious purposes i say Ahmen For casual agreement. "That is a beautiful car." "Aymen" Quote
NeuroTypical Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 I hear it both ways, they both sound about right to me. Quote
Hemidakota Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 The correct pronunciation is ‘AHMEN.’ Ahmen is a Latin word for the Semitic term ‘amen.’ Quote
Suzie Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 There is no really right or wrong pronunciation. Ahmen is correct and Aymen as well. The Ahmen pronunciation changed to Aymen during the great vowel shift back in the 1400's to the 1700's in England so technically both terms are correct. Quote
beefche Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Or you could pronounce it the Slavic way: ah-MEEN. Quote
Dravin Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Or you could pronounce it the Slavic way: ah-MEEN.Does that mean an agreeable hammer would be an Amen Ballpeen? Quote
