jgsmith06 Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 As we go throughout our lives it is important not only to read and understand these lifestyles and pricipals but to have a further understanding with our lord as we gain them. Jason Quote
the_jason Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 For the Strength of Youth is doctrine that should be followed by all members, not only the youth. I love the pamphlet for it's directness and conciseness. I carry it with me in my Sunday notebook. I should get the mini version to keep in my wallet as well. TalkativeIntrovert12345 1 Quote
vinny15 Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 It is a great book. I believe it is given to us in our youth so it will be followed in adult-hood. One thig I felt inspired to say is look at how many times we all read "I nephi being born of goodly parents" as a youth trying to read the BoM. I believe God put it there for our youth. Quote
Palerider Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 I also carry the large pamphlet in my planner and the mini one in my wallet. Quote
Josie Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 Stake President in St. George got a copy of full pamphlet for every adult in the stake and told us to drop the th on the front and think of it as for the Strength of YOU! He said the only thing in the pamphlet that did not apply to us was that we were not to date until age 16. We were already past 16, so everything else applied. Carry it with us, read it, use it, and live it. Quote
TurboTori Posted August 1, 2007 Report Posted August 1, 2007 To a lot of people this seems so much to give up...they think mormons dont live there lives out to their fullest but really we are..in the best way if we weren't asked to give up so much, when would we know it was worth it all? Quote

jsmalley116 Posted December 30, 2007 Report Posted December 30, 2007 It is important to let your friends know about your standards so you don't get caught in a sticky situation Quote
jsmalley116 Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 Because if you do not, a lot of feelings could be hurt and you may be pressured to do something that you know is wrong. Quote

jsmalley116 Posted January 6, 2008 Report Posted January 6, 2008 In addition, it is a good habit to reread the pamphlet regularly. It will remind us to keep the standards. Keeping it in your wallet will do no good unless you read it. Quote

Guest pinkiwikisses Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 i love reading the messages that the For the Strength of Youth has to offer. even though i am now out of the Young Women program and in the Relief Society, i still read the pamphlet two times each week--on Sunday after church (or before i go to bed) and on Friday before i had out to hang out with my friends. i think this pamphlet is for everyone, not just the youth, because it has some VERY important guidelines that we all need to follow in order to enter into the gates of heaven to live with our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ once more. i know that im not the perfect person (none of us are) and that i have made quite a few mistakes in my life, but i am destined to get back on the straight and narrow path by living the standards found in the For the Strength of Youth.i hope all go well for everyone and may God be with you in all your trials and hardships. :) Quote

pam Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 (edited) So do you think that KSL which is a NBC affiliate should just shut down the airwaves on Sundays? Edited July 26, 2009 by pam Quote
cwadrupldijjit Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 And some good members work on Sundays, and I'm glad they do, as then we wouldn't have some governmental services provided then. They would just stop, as if we were Jewish or something... ((by the way, that wasn't meant to be condescending or demeaning in any way)) Quote
