FunkyTown Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Commodore USAI know you're all excited. There's a rerelease coming of the classic computer that changed the world. It's got updated hardware and an updated Commodore OS. You can have up to 4 Gb of RAM and you can install Windows, but why would you want to?It comes with a Blu-Ray player. It will never crash. It will boot up in a second and a half.It has an updated Commodore OS, so Poke and Peek are back.It will connect to any standard television or monitor. It will play all the old games. If you are a programmer, or love a programmer, or once passed a programmer on the street, you have to purchase this. Commodore changed the world with its ideal of a computer for the masses. When Apple came out with a £1250 4KB computer, Commodore came out with a £199 64Kb computer.I'm not one to overstate the case, so trust me when I say that this news is so good, it will cure cancer and end war. Buy the new 64! Quote
Guest Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 I only have 1 question...Does it still play ZORK? Quote

FunkyTown Posted January 26, 2011 Author Report Posted January 26, 2011 I only have 1 question...Does it still play ZORK?It will come with a library of almost every Commodore 64 game ever made, so the only thing I can say is...It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue. Quote
slamjet Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 That website has been there for years. There has yet be a delivery of any product. As much as I'd like it to be true, I have many, many doubts if this is really anything but a fraud. It's been there for a while, but not a single one delivered for a review. Quote
NeuroTypical Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Yeesh. Bad flashback. Parent's basement. Zits. First run-in with cops over bottle rocket war. Long distance fraud at 1200 baud. First access to a heavily pixelated strip poker game. Young teen angst. Hoping that Doctor Demento could provide meaning and strength in an otherwise crummy life. Wasteland was a cool game though. So was Karate Champ. And that thing with the blitvig. Quote
MichaelCraig Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 I was SO excited and then BANG! You gave me a forrest..and then burned down the trees! It DOESN'T HAVE THE 5 1/2 INCH FLOPPY DISK DRIVE!!!! I've been looking for a 5 1/2 floppy usb to retrieve some very important ancient data from the 80's and thought finally here was my tool but NOOOOOOOO! It has all modern drives, slots and connections. Come on Funky!!! Quote
bytebear Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 I hate Commodore. I still have my original Atari 800. Emulators for Atari are out there. Commodore sucks. Long live Atari! Quote
Jamie123 Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 When I was 16 my father bought an Atari 400 for the family, and later my brother and I bought an Atari 800XL between us. Some (very stupid) people used to say "Har Har! That's not a computer! It's a games machine!" I think they were confusing it with the Atari games consoles which were popular around the same time. But anyway it's sucks to them, because I used both the 400 and the 800XL for actual computing. I used to program models of planetary orbits to prove to myself they really did obey Kepler's laws. And I wrote some of my own games using the (cool at the time) player-missile graphics facility, with much peeking and poking. "Astro Attack" was the one I was most fond of! Quote
miztrniceguy Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Hey Loudmouth! Staaaaaaaaaaaaaay Demented! Quote
