circusboy01 Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 I have often wondered. For those who make it to the highest degree of glory. Will they become Gods or gods. Looks like D&C 132 verse 20 says they will be gods. Or could it be that we use gods when they are spoken of in the same thought with Heavenly Father. Kind of like the American flag always being flown higher than other flags. But when they rule and reign over a world then they will be called Gods. Brother Ray. Quote
pam Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 My thought is: God is God the Father. All others would be god. Quote
pam Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 Once again I have moved a thread from the "how to" forum as this is not a question related to how to do things on lds.net. Quote

Brother Ray.Hmmmmm - those that follow Christ and live his teachings will be free and will not be ruled over by anyone or anything. (John 8:31-32) But will be one - just as one spouse is "one" with the other. The Traveler Quote
rameumptom Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 I think the key point is being missed here. It isn't God versus god. It is an issue of becoming part of the divine council. It is a Godhead that we become a part of, where the Father and Son are the head of the divine council. The covenant is not an individual thing. Being a god/God is not an individual thing. It is a covenant of the group. In being sealed, we are not sealed all alone/by ourselves, but as a family that stretches forever in both directions. At the head of that family is our Heavenly Parents and those divine brothers and sisters that have led the way from the beginning, including Michael, Gabriel, their wives, etc. So, we shouldn't worry whether it is a big "G" or a little "g". The thing to focus on is that we are part of the covenant of the divine council/family. Quote

I sometimes disagree with Ram, occasionally quite vehemently, but he can sure knock it out of the ballpark on occasion. Quote
rameumptom Posted August 13, 2012 Report Posted August 13, 2012 I actually hit it out of the ball park most of the time. It's just that Vort is usually in line for a hotdog and drink when I'm at bat..... Quote
