Vort Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 Anyone care to offer insights, testimonials, personal experiences, that kind of thing? Quote
FairChild Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 I adore her. She is empowering, not shaming, and effectively can teach one how to pull it all together---> providing one chooses to follow through with necessary work. Quote
Vort Posted November 19, 2012 Author Report Posted November 19, 2012 Well I follow her on facebook. :)I don't know, Pam. Given the riff-raff on FB that you've recently friended, that's not much of an inducement. Quote
pam Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 I don't know, Pam. Given the riff-raff on FB that you've recently friended, that's not much of an inducement. And just how would you know who I have friended? Quote
Vort Posted November 19, 2012 Author Report Posted November 19, 2012 And just how would you know who I have friended?Well, I know you friended me. As Groucho Marx said, "I don't want to belong to any club that will accept me as a member." Quote
john doe Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 I haven't seen flypaper in years. I always got freaked out that I would accidentally get tangled in it, or worse, have it stick to my face as I walked by. Quote
Wingnut Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 Great, now I can't talk about Vort on Pam's FB anymore. Quote
classylady Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 This is the first I've ever heard of Flylady. Quote
MorningStar Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 I tried it years ago when I had dial-up and I could hardly keep up with the plethora of e-mails. I liked the philosophy of just starting where you are, but I was a little overwhelmed by the messages. Maybe I'll give it another try. :) Quote
Vort Posted November 19, 2012 Author Report Posted November 19, 2012 Great, now I can't talk about Vort on Pam's FB anymore. Why not? I do. Quote
Backroads Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 I don't subscribe... but I look at her stuff on occassion and I love her book. Quote
Guest Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 I love flylady. I unsubscribed to the emails after a week or so. I now just visit the site. I only really stuck with one thing I learned from flylady: Do not go to bed until you've cleaned your kitchen sink. Quote
Guest Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 I tried it years ago when I had dial-up and I could hardly keep up with the plethora of e-mails. I liked the philosophy of just starting where you are, but I was a little overwhelmed by the messages. Maybe I'll give it another try. :)I got so fed up with 50 emails a day telling me to put on my shoes and shine my sink that I started replying to them, telling them to go shine her own danged sink. She never replied. To make myself feel better, I like to imagine that her house is actually Hoarders-worthy and her computer is the only place to sit (and therefore my house is much, much cleaner). I'm sure she's a lovely person. I just don't like being told what to do. And I doubt she has toddler twins (who we have dubbed Destructo Boy and his sidekick, Princess Tornado). Quote
pam Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 Why not? I do. You are starting to scare me now. Quote
Bini Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 Just did a quick Google of her, and an equally fast browse of the site -- I don't get it. Is it like a Relief Society DIY (and while you're at it, change your attitude) website? And a big LOL that you can receive emails reminding you to clean your house.. Wow. Quote
mannisue Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 For the overwhelmed, full-time working, procrastinating, general anxiety disorder sufferer, I find her to be a breath of fresh air. Nice to have someone say "hey...it's okay to take one thing at a time" and make it manageably incremental. Never been so fast to unsubscribe to a subscription of daily e-mail avalanches before, however...holy cowlamoly. Quote
volgadon Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 Why not? I do.She doesn't mean praising. Quote
pam Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 She doesn't mean praising. And I wasn't aware I had Vort as a facebook friend. :) Quote
dahlia Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 I don't know, Pam. Given the riff-raff on FB that you've recently friended, that's not much of an inducement.Hey, I resemble that remark! Quote
dahlia Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 I only really stuck with one thing I learned from flylady: Do not go to bed until you've cleaned your kitchen sink.Oh jeez. Now I know why I never got in to her. She sounds like my mother.Isn't she the maven for people who can't keep their places clean? Quote
