Gretchen Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 Today is Independence Day in the States, and as is custom for Google, they have a Special Doodle thingy on Google. The doodle is what appears to be about a dog family going on vacation, doing a lot of sight seeing. Am I just being hypersensitive, or does anyone else feel that it is just degrading? Quote
Lakumi Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 I'll say, I'm Canadian and a cat person... and the internship was one of the worst (non adam sandler) movie I have ever seen Quote
skalenfehl Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 I'm not offended by their use of cute canines. I'm more offended that it is a true representation of America today. Americans should be following the Egyptians' example right now. Quote

Gretchen Posted July 4, 2013 Author Report Posted July 4, 2013 But I highly doubt he was handing Jelly Beans to the disciples. I do not see how they somehow got linked together. Quote

pam Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 It doesn't bother me. I see some cute clips using animals seeing some of the great sites that this country has to offer. Being together as a family and enjoying them. That's what I got out of it. Quote

Wingnut Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 I don't have a problem with it at all. It's a satirical representation of classic Americana. I just don't like dogs. Quote
Gretchen Posted July 4, 2013 Author Report Posted July 4, 2013 Absolutely you are!Not the first time, either! lol Quote
Lakumi Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 Not the first time, either! loloh you should see some of my blow ups and over reactions... I've mellowed out considerably (and swear so much less) Quote
annewandering Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 (edited) i guess its easy enough to find something to read too much into. I just clicked through all the family vacation July 4th pictures on google and it is cute. Reminds me of the old 'cartoons' Walt Disney used to do. AND there are fireworks at the end!!! skalenfehl Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 As much as I may agree with your wish that Americans would do it at the ballot box, I think a military coup is a step in the wrong direction--at least for us.I'm not so sure. The election was a sham. Congress is a sham. Obama is a sham. The NDAA is a sham, the Patriot Act, etc, etc. etc. Our founding fathers are turning over and over in their graves, I'm sure. But it it is as was prophecied. The fullness of the Gentiles is coming to an end. All I can think about is Captain Moroni, Helaman, Lehi, Teancum, the 200+ stripling warriors...today we're a lazy, idle and indifferent country. Half of Americans are deceived and most of the the other half are asleep. But what do I know.Jury's still out on what will happen in Egypt, of course.I pray for Egypt. Who can say that someone worse than Morsi doesn't take over? Quote
Lakumi Posted July 4, 2013 Report Posted July 4, 2013 Canada could never have a military coup, I mean we have no guns and who knows what would happen to Tim Hortons, Canada can't function without it Quote
Gretchen Posted July 4, 2013 Author Report Posted July 4, 2013 Then why is it when I walk into a room of them I'm suddenly being given lists of things to do for them?Because only men seemed to have been able to master the pickle jar opening. :p:p Quote
