askandanswer Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 After experiencing how unreliable our eyes/perceptions can be now I'm going to have my kids tell me that there room is not really messy, it just looks that way. Quote

Crypto Posted February 28, 2015 Report Posted February 28, 2015 (edited) For a trick in seeing the image differently, use your hands to cover up a good section of the image, especially the surrounding, look away close one eye and look back. Focus on seeing the blueish tinge in the fabric. Once you get a section blue/black slowly expand what you covered up until completely uncovered. The idea is to help change how you perceive the context around the dress. jerome1232 Posted February 28, 2015 Report Posted February 28, 2015 Goes to show just how much editing of the images we see our brain does. Vort 1 Quote
Blackmarch Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 This is causing my kids to think I've gone off the deep end... I see gold and white (or very pale lavender). They see bright blue and black. BLACK! In what planet is gold even remotely close to black? But, they see black. Jedi mind trick... and I'm sure Vort - the master of color - will have the explanation. as a pic itself the colors in it are a dark pale blue, and a dark yellow that is almost black in the shadows. what its actual colors is probably quite a bit different due to the light from the lightsource interacting with the camera.
