Did Vidangel win, or is it still pending?

I just discovered Star Trek: Enterprise with Scott Bakula.  It only ran 4 seasons.  I'm watching it on Netflix. Love it. I also still like Star Trek: The Next Generation.  But those are the only two Star Trek shows I like.

I love Once Upon a Time. It does get a little cheesy at times, but I still love it.

Turn..my oldest son told me about that show because we both like history. I'm very interested in Spy 355...he says she's in it. But he also warned me that it's pretty  violent  (he knows I'm sensitive to violence).

Waaa.  I didn't like the Scott Bakula Star Trek ones.  I did like his show where he time travels (can't remember the name at the moment).  My favorite ST so far is Voyager.  I like the Borg and there's tons of encounters with them in this one.

So, I found that when the kids are not playing video games and the hubby is not watching NBA, I'm watching Fox News.  At least that's what the TV's "last viewed" says.  I have one of those things on the TV where you can go to the Last Viewed channels and it will show the last 10 channels you visited.  The list is flip-flopping between CBS and Fox News.

So I went to what has been saved.  And there are 3 things there... NBA, Fixer Upper, and Night Manager.

Now, I've seen all 6 episodes of this mini-series, Night Manager.  I love Loki!  He was pretty good as Loki and in War Horse.  Night Manager.. aahh... I'm not as fond of him here.  This mini-series is like a long Loki audition tape for James Bond and I just don't think this character really matches him.  He's just too debonaire to be spy material, even a Bond type of spy.  He'd do better as one of Jane Austen's characters.

I was watching the Magicians and then...oh my, the sexual content of one episiode put it in the no-go region. I tried watching "Just add Magic" a show for young girls but even I could not take the high saccharine level. I watched "The Americans" for a while. I should try this again.

That was a total bait question Lehi, Anatess was weeding out the geeks in the crowd...snag, she caught you!

This would be similar to asking about that show from the 80' with that one detective guy with the mustache who lived in Hawaii?

I've been caught before. Good thing this place is a catch'n'release pond, much like Border Patrol vans.

Once upon a time, I believe Sci-Fi channel had the time travelling block of shows on Saturday mornings: The Time Tunnel, Voyagers, & Quantum Leap.

Those were fun Saturday mornings.

You are 100% correct!!
The Magnum PI reference was my bait to see which female here had a Tom Selleck poster taped to the back of their bedroom door growing up = "snag" caught you!;)

The Six Million Dollar Man was very firmly a '70s show, not '80s. (And how quaint does that sound today, as if six million bucks is an overwhelmingly large sum. Ah, the good old days, when money used to be worth something.)

Well, you know, a million here, a million there.  Pretty soon it starts to add up to some real  money.

My sister had a poster of Pierce Brosnan on her wall.  I preferred Clint Eastwood.

I loved Taylor, but I'm more of a Brigham Young/Wilford Woodruff man myself.  See...this is the kind of humor we need on a Friday! Thanks Vort!

I just PMd you all my address, so next time someone is tossing or giving away a mere million... send it my way. I could use some pocket change.

Carb, here is Clint poster I would imagine you having.

That one is pretty good.  But I was thinking:

As far as current shows go, my wife and I follow Once Upon a Time - although I kinda wish it would just end. We started Agents of Shield and enjoyed the first season, waiting for the next season we lost interest - it seemed like the next season blew past us and we didn't know what was going on, it was too darkish and we just didn't know who the characters were anymore - we may try again some time. I also watched the 100 for a season - I quite liked it over-all and was curious to see how things played out, but in the next season I once again lost interest. It didn't help that they had a previously straight seeming girl turn lesbian on us, I get that the culture we live in feels the need to make sure that every show has a token homosexual - but do they have to play out the whole "I'm confused and exploring my orientation" thing... are you born that way? If so it should be straight forward what gender is attractive. Any way I digress.

I prefer older shows as I find the entertainment value is higher and the corruption factor is much smaller.

Some of my current favourites include The Andy Griffith Show and Petticoal Junction. I do find that Andy is just not the same in season 6 and beyond with the loss of Barney Fife. I've also been enjoying Bonanza from time to time - but I prefer 1/2 hour shows as I don't like being tied to the TV longer than that.

When it comes to Star Trek, I found the original series a bit too random (disorganixed?) and campy for my taste as a whole - and yet I can still enjoy an episode here and there. My pick for best Star Trek is hands down The Next Generation, followed by Voyager, Enterprise and Deep Space Nine in that order. I've never watched the animated series. I'm amazed that the first Star Trek move (v'ger) didn't forever destroy the franchise, but I've enjoyed the others and find the reboot movies fun too.

Quantum leap is great. I also like Early Edition, The Pretender, MacGyver, JAG (the series and the forum member :) ), and even a little A-team from time to time.

My wife and I recently rediscovered ALF  (I'd forgotten all about that furry alien) and so far it's not too bad either - I get scared to watch shows that I remember liking as a kid because I'm often not only disappointed in the show, but disappointed that I thought it was good in the past.

Speaking of shows I watched as a kid, Full House is still okay for a few laughs - Fuller House isn't my favourite though, but not awful either (if you have some time to waste because your sick and you don't already have a line up of things to catch up it may fit the bill, but don't schedule time out of life to see it - but this probably holds true for all TV)

I started watching that, and despite some serious misgivings, I enjoyed the first few episodes. But it turned into a soap opera, and I completely lost interest. I think it's targeted toward more of a female demographic, but I found my "Don't Care" factor through the roof a few episodes in.

I flew back from Dallas Thursday, and on the flight I started watching the first episode of season 3. About the time the new character they were introducing was told to have been abandoned by his boyfriend, I was done. I am completely and irretrievably finished with watching that show. Good riddance.

We do not have pay TV. We do have a Roku, but I rarely watch anything. My wife enjoys watching police procedurals of some sort, NCIS, I think. The only thing we regularly watch is Studio C, and that's as a weekly family activity. I don't know if I'm particularly happier cutting back on my TV, but I am certainly a whole lot more productive -- which on the whole does make me happier, I think.

I wanted to like The 100 but way too much sex and violence. Way too much.

Also, very targeted toward teens or YA (but, lots of sex and violence?). Anyway, the teen thing was turn off since I'm way past teen. Any time there was a crisis, the adults characters moved to the sidelines and the teens alone solved the problem, often by disobeying the adults in authority.

And yeah the lesbian episode is when it totally jumped the shark for me.

I just think the creators of these CW network shows are plain wicked. The same with their show Reign, which is ostensibly targeted toward teens, but the first episode had way too much sex so I was done right there.

Since @Just_A_Guy is a lawyer, I wonder if that is part of how he formulated his moniker.

I agree with your view on 100 also, very teen bop oriented, had to give up after 5-6 episodes. If I'm not mistaken, pretty sure a very big slice of TV shows and movies are targeted towards teens anyways. Retailers and manufactures are trying to build up brand loyalty at an earlier age. I don't this "big slice" includes the news and documentary work.

Don't quote me on any of this.
