prisonchaplain Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS VOTE DEMOCRAT!Sorry...but if a pentecostal preacher can crash an LDS party, did you really think I"d obey the Demos-only rule??? Quote
Moksha Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 All those Democrats riding Bush's coattails into office.... Quote
prisonchaplain Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Only if they can convince us they have an alternative to the current course. Nobody is happy with the war and its cost, but neither are we convinced that the Democrats no how to best resolve the situation. Me thinks Bush's coattails will be his to keep, come the new administration--regardless of party. Quote

On the substance of the issue..I honestly think there are some dems that don't understand, Bush can't run again in 08, so what exactly are they running against? Quote

MadHatter Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 oh yeah, cause gay marriage and socialized healthcare is what Christ wants for his children. Wrong. Yes, actually i would love to see Christ Come again, but the world isn't ready for that Yet. too many people would be lost. too many people would not be ready. Quote
Palerider Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 Democrats are goin gto screw up our country Royaly, so if you want christ to come sooner, vote Democrat, otherwise, Vote for Romney.I know you are joking but let me say this.....I for one am not a Democrat and never will be. I have alot of friends that are and we joke around alot and its all good and fun. Alot of members would be surprised to know just how many Prophets have been Democrats and how many of the Apostles have and are Democrats. Quote
Moksha Posted October 5, 2007 Report Posted October 5, 2007 ... and socialized health care is what Christ wants for his children. Yes, I think he wants us to be healthy and care for one another. Greed is antithetical to Christianity. Quote
vgt_bob Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 I am always amazed at how knee-jerk the responses are whenever anyone mentions democrats. 1. The Clinton family managed to stay married and worked through a serious problem. Compare and contrast with Gulianni and Gingrich and tell me again why the Clinton family has the bad reputation. 2. "Socialized Medicine" is a big bad thing, especially when it provides health care for children. So what is the alternative? My son-in-law earns $9 per hour - $360 per week or about $18,000 per year. Above minimum wage but not great. Fairly typical in other words. A basic insurance plan would cost him $500 per month or $6,000 per year or 30% of his annual salary. So why is a system like Mitt established in Massachusetts or Arnold proposing in California bad? 3. Real conservatives are not Republicans or Democrats. The Republicrats sold their souls a long time ago. Libertarians are a joke as a party but have the only real conservative positions. Everybody loves to talk tough but they are not willing to give up what they have to return to a true conservative country. Robert B. Democrat by Registration Frustrated by Reality Quote
MadHatter Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 Yes of course we need to care for one another, and this country is a capitalist country and is on the wrong track. I actually think Clinton did alot of good for this country as president, i would vote for him again if he could run, his wife on the other hand, not so much. The current list of presidential candidates of the democratic party are horrible choices and they all are competing on the basis of "how fast can i bring the troops home." They don't realize that if you pull them out ostentaciously like that, we are going to need to send them back to iraq, and the U.S. will never be taken seriously again. we will be attacked by Iraq, and Iran and this whole world is going to get screwed up hard. Fiannan Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 I know that Hitlery was influenced by liberation theology while young -- kind of a Jesus as socialist thing. However, if one reads the Parable of the Talents one is left with the feeling that God is further to the right than any Republican. Quote
