Are the Celestial Terrestrial and Telestial Kingdoms physical places or a state of being?

Even though we are part of the "kingdom" of God on this earth, its not of a celestial glory but rather a telestial. Until our location changes, our laws change, etc, we will continue in that glory.

I do not disagree as much as I am convinced that there is so much more – a lot more lines upon lines upon lines and more precepts upon precepts upon precepts.

This is similar to asking whether Babylon and Zion are places or states of being..

It is also somewhat like asking whether America (United States) is a place or state of being. It is not only a question of geographic boundaries and domicile, but also of citizenship and culture and spirit.

Maybe. But is it always just a place?

I say "maybe" because, America is fast becoming something quite different from the America I once knew. And, some places that were once Babylon have become more like Zion, and vice-versa.

In one sense we are commanded to build up Zion in our homes, communities, etc. In another sense we as a people, those called the pure in heart, are called Zion and are tied in to the places we dwell in or upon.

So yeah, I think you are right.

I found this reference in the Bhagavad-Gita which is Hindu scripture from ancient India that I found quite interesting in how it relates to the 3 Kingdoms of glory; Sattva being Celestial, Rajas being Terrestial and Tamas being Telestial. Not what is our doctrine but the belief does have some striking similarities.

Correspondences of the Three Gunas

Color

Sattva – White, purity and harmony
Rajas – Red, action and passion
Tamas – Black, darkness and delusion

Time

Sattva – Day, clarity
Rajas – Sunrise and Sunset, twilight, transition
Tamas – Night, darkness

Energy

Sattva – neutral or balanced
Rajas – positive, sets things in motion
Tamas – negative, retards motion

Worlds

Sattva – heaven or space, the region of peace
Rajas – atmosphere, the region of storms
Tamas – earth, the realm of gravity and inertia

Levels of Cosmos

Sattva – causal or ideal
Rajas – subtle or astral, pure form
Tamas – gross or physical

Kingdoms of Nature

Sattva – spiritual beings: Gods, Goddesses and sages
Rajas – human realm
Tamas – mineral, plant and animal kingdoms

States of Consciousness

Sattva – waking
Rajas – dream
Tamas – deep sleep

An interesting thought in regards to questions people have about where the Terrestrial and Telestial kingdoms will be.

It is possible that this world and the Spirit World are both here.  This means that this world has different places or existences (dimensions, not sure how one would phrase it).

In that light, perhaps a world can exist in every state it has previously existed, up to the highest existence it contains.  Thus, our world, having already had the spiritual existence, also has that existence still.

In that light, when it is Celestial and rules over the Terrestrial and Telestial, perhaps it is possible both will also be in the same world, but just as the Spirit world and Our Physical world are on different planes of existence, so to will they be.

 

Just a thought, not an opinion or anything else, just something that I thought of when reading through the thread.
