I don't have my ordinance card handy - all packed away right now but I think its:

Call by name

In the name of Jesus Christ

By what authority

Ordain you a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Say unto you, Receive the Holy Ghost

Blessings as impressed upon you by the Spirit.

I once worked as Sacred Steward of the Secret Archives in the Navoo Bureau of the Church's Central Intelligence Agency and so I was able to riffle through all the good stuff.

No. I think the Church is abusing it's power by not supporting Mac users. It's immoral and despicable. When I found out I was nauseous. It is a clear case of clear case of macsogyny.

I used to have a program with a fair amount of LDS resources on it for Mac OS Classic but thought Gospel Link was only for PC users.

It is PC software based or is it web-based and suitable for various browers?

What's on Gospel Link that I can't access through the regular internet?

Guys,

I think it is I confirm you am member of, not ordain you. Ordinations are for the priesthood.

Ben Raines

In priesthood it is "I confir the Aaronic or Melquizadec (sp) priesthood and ordan you to the office of Deacon, Teacher, Elder or whatever it is.

Whoops! You mean I have to do my four kids over?

Thank Ben.

I guess this is the correct procedure. I need to have this down by Saturday.

Under the direction of the bishopric or branch presidency, one or more Melchizedek Priesthood holders may participate in this ordinance. They place their hands lightly on the person’s head. Then the person who performs the ordinance:

1. States the person’s full name.

2. States that the ordinance is performed by the authority of the Melchizedek Priesthood.

3. Confirms the person a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

4. Bestows the gift of the Holy Ghost by saying, “Receive the Holy Ghost.”

5. Gives a priesthood blessing as the Spirit directs.

6. Closes in the name of Jesus Christ.

I was blessed to be able to Baptize my niece a couple of years ago. I was asked on the Thursday and she was Baptized on the Saturday. I spent 2 days figuring out what needed to be said and how to say it correctly. When the time came for the confirmation, I was so wrapped up in "saying it correctly" that I lost the Spirit. It took a few sentences of me "trying to do it right" before I gave up and the Spirit directed me in what to say. I still have no recollection of what I said in her blessing. It was very powerful for everyone involved. Yes you have to say the correct words, but do not forget to let the Spirit direct you as well.

Good Luck!

Well, I have it all written out, but at my age my memory is not as good as it once was.

Do a group of Melchezidek dudes congregate around the child with their hands on their shoulders and the other on the child's head like in other ordinances? Which hand for the shoulder and which hand for the head?

Yes.

Left hand = Shoulder

Right hand = Head

Some notes about blessings as impressed upon you by the Spirit.

1. Remember that you stand as proxy for G-d and that you are speaking for and as him.

2. Avoid using negative spiritual words like "might" or "should"

3. Do not give a blessing if you are not spiritually prepared to do so. Something needs to be done every day to maintain your spiritually preparedness.

4. Giving a blessing is the same as giving forgiveness.

5. Blessings have eternal consequences and often do not apply to just this life.

6. Giving a blessing may have as much or more effect on you than the one who you bless.

7. How the blessing is presented is not up to you and the actual words should not be prepared in advance
