Sunday21 Posted August 29, 2017 Report Posted August 29, 2017 Two things I did not know about lds public affairs! You can serve a public affairs mission! You can get some help with local public affairs needs. I wonder what this might entail? Publicizing a local lds event? https://publicaffairs.lds.org/ HelamansArmy and NeuroTypical 2 Quote
Ironhold Posted August 29, 2017 Report Posted August 29, 2017 As someone who *is* involved in stake public affairs? At the bare minimum, you're supposed to be a liaison with the local media outlets. Quote
askandanswer Posted August 29, 2017 Report Posted August 29, 2017 Public affairs are always so tacky. I think affairs should best be done discretely. seashmore and Sunday21 2 Quote

hzdbl5 Posted August 30, 2017 Report Posted August 30, 2017 "You can serve a public affairs mission!" I have been keeping an eye on the senior missionary opportunities on lds.org, particularly the public affairs needs. My wife and I have chatted a couple of times about deciding whether we'd like to serve such a mission in Manhattan or Sydney. Both would be fun. Sunday21 1 Quote

Public Affairs were involved in that When the youth did their trek last year, public affairs made sure there was an article in the main daily newspaper When the stake did a helping hands project a while back, public affairs got it into the newspaper When there are inter-faith gatherings or ecumenical councils, the church here will sometimes be represented by the public affairs person Probably they've done more than this but these are the ones I know about.
