Nohi2279 Posted December 29, 2017 Report Posted December 29, 2017 I have been an inactive member since 2001. During that time, I went through a rebellious phase. I skipped church, skipped prayer and even had the missionaries banned from my home. The ironic thing is that when I first moved into my home, the missionaries stopped by. I turned them as usual and moved abput my business. My absence from the church introduced new interests into my life, which were not conducive to the church teachings that I was brought up with. Namely tarot and horoscopes. I didn't realize the danger of these activities, until I noticed my behavior had become increasingly paranoid. After my first marriage, I stated using these more frequently than normal. The last straw was when I consulted a psychic about my current husband. She immediately told me that my husband was having an affair and that I would eventually get a divorce from this person. I was shaken to the core, after receiving this information and proceeded to accuse him of his "supposed infidelities". He informed me angrily that no such person existed and he would never cheat on me. After this incident, I no longer pursue these interests. As of today, I would like attend church once again. The thing that I miss the most is the amazing serenity that I feel after sacrament meeting. My husband, who is also a member has also expressed interest in returning back to church. I am hoping that doing so will heal our marriage and our family. For those of you reading this, psychics and readings are not accurate. We create our own destiny and Heavenly Father would not want us to live in fear because a psychic gave us a bad reading. Please keep the Hunter family in your prayers. We need all the help we can get. NeuroTypical, GoodNJolly, zil and 3 others 6 Quote

I went on the grounds, torn jeans and T-shirt, and the calm I felt...i swear i heard “You are home. This is where you are supposed to be. Please come back” it’s been a long road, my wife is actually really into the terot cards and the like as well, but I am currently responding while looking at a very beautiful Temple with a date in mind to go in with a reccomend. Please come to church whenever you can. It is that simple. seashmore, zil, The Folk Prophet and 1 other 4 Quote
VioletGrace Posted April 8, 2018 Report Posted April 8, 2018 I'm new to the Church but it makes me happy to hear you and your husband would like to attend again! Yours is also a perfect message sent from the holy spirit because just before I clicked on your post, the idea of calling a psychic popped into my head. That idea was quickly dissolved after reading your post. We are all in this together! Sacrament is such a blessing and does allow for a great sense of peace, like you said. Sunday21 1 Quote
