Snow Posted November 19, 2007 Report Posted November 19, 2007 I don't know why I was surfing Youtube or how I came across it, but Joul is my new favorite musical artist:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yerbv9Ip2uUI think it's captivating.
Elphaba Posted November 19, 2007 Author Report Posted November 19, 2007 There is no connection here except Joul and Cesario are both French, and their songs both have similar lilting melodies. I don't know if it's a French thing, but it's really lovely.I have posted this before, but Joul reminded me Cesario and how much I loved her voice, so I'm posting her again.Cesario EvoraElphaba

Gabelma Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 Rhydian is fab isn't he Gab??!!!??I think he's great, hope he wins :) I went to a Ray Quinn concert with my Mum a few weeks ago it was really good.-Charley
pushka Posted November 22, 2007 Report Posted November 22, 2007 I wanted to go on the last XFactor tour concert...or maybe the 1 before that, when Shayne Ward won...but didn't bother in the end, however I was lucky to attend a book signing by Shayne and me and my kids had our pixs taken with him...my daughter had tickets to his show in Manchester this year but was struck down with a bug and gave her ticket away...so we've never been to a real concert of the X Factor finalists yet...(Becki and Dan did see a small, 5 song, live show in the centre of Manchester tho...so at least they have seen him live a little). I wasn't keen on having Rhydian in the competition at first because I wasn't sure how he would cope with the various genres, but I do agree that he's one of the best on there now!! :)

Elphaba Posted November 28, 2007 Author Report Posted November 28, 2007 A friend sent this to me via email.I cracked up!Enjoy... Onyx What's even funnier is that it reminded me of our own Strawberry Fields. The comic looked just like her, and I know Strawberry is one to take care of every one else but herself, so I couldn't help but think of her as I listened to this. Very Very funny.Elphie
pushka Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 Donny Osmond - Close Every DoorI've pinched this from Elphie's signature...I believe this is one of the most beautiful, saddest songs I've ever heard...I recall hearing that Andrew Lloyd Webber had the Jewish POWs in mind when he wrote the lyrics to this..particularly in the verse where he says 'Just give me a number instead of a name..'Simply wonderful..Close every door to me,Hide all the world from meBar all the windowsAnd shut out the lightDo what you want with me,Hate me and laugh at meDarken my daytimeAnd toture my nightIf my life were important IWould ask will I live or dieBut I know the answers lieFar from this world Close every door to me,Keep those I love from meChildren of IsraelAre never aloneFor I know I shall findMy own peace of mindFor I have been promisedA land of my own Children Close every door to me,Hide all the world from meBar all the windowsAnd shut out the light Joseph Just give me a numberInstead of my nameForget all about meAnd let me decayI do not matter,I'm only one personDestroy me completelyThen throw me away If my life were important IWould ask will I live or dieBut I know the answers lieFar from this world Joseph, Ensemble & Children Close every door to me,Keep those I love from meChildren of IsraelAre never aloneFor we know we shall findOur own peace of mind For we have been promisedA land of our own'Lyrics: Close every door
