repeal17thamendment Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 My answer is with the help of Plaxico Burris and Brandon Jacobs and some help from Eli Manning. I think it's nice that Eli will be in the super bowl because I really respect the Mannings. Peyton is one of the best QBs in the league and Eli has shown that he's got the same stuff as his brother, all of which they learned from their father Archie Manning. Since probably only .001% of the population gets to become a super bowl quarterback, the fact that a man and his two sons are THREE of them is incredible, and it really speaks to Archie's parenting abilities. Frankly I'm in awe because if you have kids, then you know how much focus and organization it takes to mold kids into A. having self discipline, and B. into USING that self discipline to get to such a high level of skill. Since the Giants were a wild card, and based on Eli's playing before the last game of the regular season, I can't believe I'm saying Eli and super bowl in the same sentence and that it means he will be PLAYING in it. That being said, I think the patriots are going to have control of the game the whole time. Quote
Mahonri Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 The Giants just simply outplayed my Packers. The Pat's will beat them again and they will be 19-0. It's been a long time since a NFC wild card has gone to the Superbowl... not since the Bears in the 80's. Quote
kona0197 Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 I was just gonna say it doesn't matter. Pats will beat them. Quote
Jbs2763 Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 I'll take from your other posts to answer this.....its a Bush conspiaracy Quote
kona0197 Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 My other posts? Don't recall talking about Bush... Quote
USNationalist Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Giants will win the SB. Which is good, because then next year, my Redskins can beat the SB champs twice. Go Skins. Quote

Giants beat the 'boys in the playoffs and are now in the Super Bowl. It doesn't matter who you beat in the regular season. Your Redskins are a few years yet from the Super Bowl, so don't toot their horn just yet. Quote
Maureen Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Karma also felt bad for Tyne because his coach reamed him out twice. I felt sorry for the guy, so started to cheer for the Giants. In the long run I think New England will win.M. Quote
the_jason Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 HAHA the guy missed two easy field goals. The one he made in OT was longer than the 2 he missed. He's paid a lot of money to kick field goals. If he can't do it he should expect to be reamed. Quote

Things do not hinge on it, but beating the Super Bowl champs in a regular season game will do a lot for a teams moral and will improve their performance in their next games. The more confidence you can take with you into the Post season the better your chances. Quote
the_jason Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Apparently beating the G men twice during the season didn't help the Cowboys' morale. Quote

kona0197 Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 USNationalist - you really think the Giants will win the SB? Thanks for the laugh... Quote
Canuck Mormon Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Nobody thought they would get past Dallas, then Green Bay. So, maybe. I highly doubt it, but stranger things have happened. Quote

kona0197 Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 It's been awhile since my 49ers have done any good. We still hold the record for the most SB wins though. Quote

The point is (shocking though it may be) he did get them one game away from the SB. Quote
USNationalist Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Apparently beating the G men twice during the season didn't help the Cowboys' morale. Why would it? No one expected much from the Giants this year, and they didn't achieve anything great last year. The Cowgirls are loaded with talent (they are the NFC pro bowl team) and they went up against a team they handled twice- they didn't take the game seriously enough and it cost them. Not to mention the drive the Giants would have had to not lose a 3rd time in one year to a rival. Why do you think Super Bowl winners are given the label of "targets" the next season? Everyone wants to beat them, and if they accomplish that they get their reward in moral/ego boosts. Quote

Look for Sinorice Moss to become a solid option for the giants in a season or two. Quote
