ra_shelly_ellie Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 If you were not mormon. what is something you would like to do. Quote
Dr T Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Answer this thread's question :) (perfect fit for me ra_shelly_ellie. Good seeing u in chat today btw) Quote
ztodd Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Get baptized and become mormon. :)You mean what sin would we like to commit if we weren't under covenant yet? No thanks, I don't like sinning. Whatever I would want to do if I wasn't LDS is the same thing I would want to do if I am LDS. Alma 41:10Maybe that's not what you meant- sorry if I understood you wrong. Quote
ra_shelly_ellie Posted April 2, 2008 Author Report Posted April 2, 2008 no like there is a mom in my ward who always plays this with us and she always says if she wasn't mormon she would be coffee drinker because it smells good. She doesn't let her daughters drink pop so they said they would drink a big ol can of pop Quote
Guest GreenMum Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Okay.. I guess I am going to be a fuddy dudddy... this post isn't the best. We should not be focusing on what we could do "if we weren't Mormon" but the blessing we get because we are. Isn't lusting after a sin, a sin in itself (correct me if I'm wrong). I was offended by this question and I'm not even a total Molly Mormon! Quote
ra_shelly_ellie Posted April 2, 2008 Author Report Posted April 2, 2008 sorry i didn't mean to offend anyone, it's just a silly thing my ward does to (in my opinion) asseses what temptations we are dealing with. It's not meant to focus on not being mormon but identify our temptations and still being strong enough to not give in. It also personally helps me identify with my peers. I'm not the only one feeling this temptation. And of course we get really good answers like i would become mormon. Sorry again to anyone i offended, just supposed to be silly, not serious. Quote
skalenfehl Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Hmmm...I think I used to think of such things when I was really young because I thought there were things that I wanted to experience without consequences. But looking back, I realize I'm not missing anything at all. Quote
Moksha Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 If you were not mormon. what is something you would like to do. I think I would like to try deep sea fishing. Relax Shelly-Ellie, you did not offend anyone. These forums are to share thoughts, just like you were doing. :) Quote
Lolgirl Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Hmmm Well the one thing I might do is wear a top with no sleeves.Since South Africa is wayyyyy hot.Lol but that's something I can live without I suppose. Quote
puf_the_majic_dragon Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 If you were not mormon. what is something you would like to do.Learn to fly :) YouTube - Foo Fighters - Learn to Fly lyricsOh, and I'd love to run naked through the streets of Syracuse shouting "EUREKA!". 2 points to anyone who gets that reference without having to look it up Quote
Aphrodite Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 I was offended by this question and I'm not even a total Molly Mormon! Perhaps you should read that talk then was it by Bednar?? about not being offended. Lighten up!!!!!!Shelley me and my hubby talk about this sometimes. He's a bit of a rebel at heart and reckons he'd be a hardcore smoker and drinker!!!! I said just as well u aint cause I wouldnt have married you.If I wasn't a member from birth I might be living with hubby rather than married to him, I might drink but I might not.If today I decided to leave the church I wouldnt do a lot different. I would not drink because I hate all that alcohol promotes, I certainly wouldnt smoke. I wouldnt drink tea or coffee because I have tried both and dont like either. Lol-So I suppose I would do more things on a Sunday!!! Quote
Maya Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Live far from bnig centers (where the churches fex are) maybe on a boat...sale roung the world! Oh and I would not run naked around... dont want to scare people... Quote
havejoy Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Ride my Bicycle from coast to coast. I might do it anyway if I can get all the churches lines up. Puf----Archimedes? Quote
tiancum Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 I would be jewish. Live in Israel, and be in the mossad. And make fun of mormons.Isn't lusting after a sin, a sin in itself (correct me if I'm wrong).I was offended by this question and I'm not even a total Molly Mormon! You are assuming that she was asking us what sins we would commit. What if she was asking simply...How would your life be different? Then look at the responses. That is how most took it. BTW, ya probably are a Molly Mormon. i know I am, i look SOOO good in a pioneer dress! I stitch a mean quilt too. or whatever you do to a quilt....(staple, knit, glue...whuteva) Quote
Aphrodite Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 LOL Tiancum-That's how I took the question. I find it interesting to talk about what my life would be like as the church has shaped it from day one. Quote
Misshalfway Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 I think I might love wine tasting...... or maybe plan big elaborate weddings for my girls in fun locations. Sometimes I would just like to say a beautifully crafted cuss word without guilt! Quote
StrawberryFields Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 The wine tasting got me thinking that I might have to try that one. Last night I caught a news segment about the benefits of wine.... Quote

SmilingRedhead Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 I think I possibly would be a wealthy, highly educated, lean-mean-career-machine. Doing whatever it took to get ahead and up the career ladder. I'd possibly be a divorced, no kids, smoker, mocha-latte drinking, casual wine drinking, casual dating, going on expensive holidays kinda woman. The world would revolve around me me me in constant pursuit of more more more. What an egocentric, lonely, unhappy life that would've been...!! I'm so glad the Gospel has given me so much more happiness than what I ever could've gained without it in my life. :) Quote
