  4. This was recently released by the Associated Press: Calif. octuplets' mom's veil of secrecy vanishes - Yahoo! News
  5. I think its great that you are researching this. I will highly rec. shooting before you buy. I too am female and I have shot 9mm....40 cal's and .45 cal. Due to my very small hand I do have somewhat of a hard time holding it in the correct manner..................so again try some different ones and find the one that you are comfortable with. I bit of a side note I strongly urge some training on weapon retention.
  6. thanks for the reminder Pale
  7. It might be better to ask that question "do I need to tell my parents?" to your Bishop and see what he has to say. As far as being looked at differently by them....it "might" be your own perception and on how you feel if you feel that you have let them down. Usually we are much much harder on ourselves then our loved ones are. Go and talk w/ your Bishop! I don't know who said this but it is one of my favorite quotes, "Repentance is the first emotion we feel when we are drawn into the bosom of our Heavenly Father."
  8. Thank so much for sharing your experiance.............. ----------------------------maybe just maybe I can have hope after all
  9. Interalia, WoW! You truly have an amazing story and I am so glad that you shared it w/ us here. Please know that you have support. Les
  10. Decide you budget first and hold to that budget. I found my own bland announcement and shopped around at print shops to find out who could print them up for me for the cheapest. I shopped around for my wedding cake as well. I had my dress made by a family member and all it cost me was the cost of material. You might be able to find some really nice finds at 2nd hand stores. Depends on you for that. Just start right now. Congratulations.
  11. welcome to the site and welcome to the church!!!!!!
  12. Thai is great!! Glad u found some and enjoyed it!
  13. A couple of questions have been raised......depending on what state she lives in some fertility treatment is covered by insurance. Is it expensive very much so between $10,000 and $15,000 for one attempt. It is cheaper in Europe.....in the Czech Republic it will cost $5000. The number of embryos implanted varies from fertility clinic and the health of the mother (8 seems way extreme IMHO). Individuals/couples can freeze the embroyos to use in later attempts of IVF, yes it does cost for "storage". Some choose to donate those (either after a succussful IVF or after failed attempts). That being said that is an extreme personal decission that the couple has to make.
  14. Don't give up as you truly have a wonderful gift!!!!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!
  15. A bit of background: live in a rural area where the majority of the population is LDS. Several times now I have been told by individuals that a group (a volunteer organization) that I am involved in hasn’t allowed participation/involvement from individuals that aren’t members of the church. In a nut shell this really bugs me! I don’t claim to be the perfect example of the church. I know my faults and my many issues, but I strongly believe that this blatantly wrong. It does not help the organization and it doesn’t give a great example of the church. I know, it’s the people that are at fault…but so many times people can’t see the difference between the person and the church. What should I do? Do I say something? Do I simply do nothing?
  16. Get a priesthood blessing!!!! I will help!!
  17. "**Quick backround** I have an infertility issue and have not been able to conceive--it's been devestating for me not to have children. It's all I have ever wanted....now this!" Even though I can't understand all that you are going through.....I can and do understand infertility. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
  18. I have been looking at wheat grinders and I am completely out of my element. I have never used one and I honestly don't know where to start. I do know that I could get an attachment for my Kitchen-Aid but at one time heard or was told that a hand crank is better. I would also like a hand crank if for nothing else for if/when electricity isn't an option. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
  19. When we were looking into adoption yrs ago......LDSFS was by far the cheapest. At that time it was 10% of your ann. income w/ a max. being $10,000. Grant it that could of changed. I would look into as many options that are available to you. Another option is foster care and then foster-adopt. In that situation I know the cost is greatly deminished.
  20. I would have your bishop put you in contact with LDS Family Services. They will be better to answer your questions, especially those pertaining to specific state questions. As for as a child w/ special needs that is only something you and your dh can answer.
