Outshined, You are probability right, and that is so sad that some would equate "Mormon" with religious fanatic.

Maybe he is mesmerized after looking into Jennifer's unusually big eyes.

hanging oneself? No! Never! I'm very happy with all the blessings that the Lord has bestowed upon me! God gave me great parents and I have some really good friends too. I'm not rich or famous, but I'm very healthy and enjoy life and I'm excited about all of the possibilities that it offers! I'm truely concerned about people that are so depressed as to contemplate suicide. I would go out of my way to try and help someone overcome this state of depression. I pray that everyone can feel the joy of living!

The Aztecs borrowed and adapted artistic styles and beliefs from the Olmecs and the Toltecs. One of the gods that the Aztecs borrowed from the Toltecs was Quetzalcoatl (keht-tsel-koh-ahtl) the god of wind. When the spanish conquistadores came, the Aztecs thought that the fair skinned Quetzalcoatl had returned. The Aztecs fear of displeasing this god led to their defeat by the spanish.

You know the saying ..."love is blind"! If I was her fiance, I'd break up with her and try to move on with my life. Sure I would feel humiliated but ... I agree with Amillia : "if he marries her he will never know what she is going to pull next". I would be afraid of what might trigger the next psychotic event.

I don't think that anyone in their right mind would want to go through the pain and agony of Christ's crucifixion to try to fake their death and resurrection.

Pushka, I like most of your post, however ... I found the Adam post to be in poor taste. The dialogue between God and Adam was offensive for me!

Outshine, It has been said that animals can have a therapeutic effect for their owners by lowering blood pressure and reducing stress. If that not good enough then I think that they are just plain fun to have around!

How Accountable Are We In The End
begood2 replied to StrawberryFields's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
SF, It is a tragedy that a frightfully large number of people become addicted to drugs each year. This self-destruction can leave an indelible mark of pain on their families and associates. I like John doe's comment ... "this man didn't have the capacity to handle the situation he got himself into" It is easy to judge the faults of others but ... only God knows whats in their heart and the mental capacity that they have to handle the situations that they have encountered. I pray that but for the strength and grace of God so go I! -
Pushka, May God bestow his blessings generously on the much needed and appreciated volunteer! IMO, by volunteering to help others that are less fortunate than us ... we are emulating a loving, caring and compassionate Jesus Christ in giving of oneself to others in need!

Maureen, This past fall my cable company had a 30 plus hour marathon of Star Trek movies. I didn't watch them all but IMO ... the original Star Trek with captain Kirk and Spock were the best! The special effects may not have been as good on these earlier shows but the characters seemed more interesting and genuine to me.

Outshined, I think most cats that live outside are lucky if they live to be 10 or 12 years old. Wow, 17 years ... that may not be a record but is a very long time for a cat. May it be with your family for many more years!

Snow, Idacat and Outshined, I checked out your websites for atlas/maps locations and I found them very useful. They are each just a little different and very interesting. Thanks for sharing!

Ripley, I know that the loss of your mother was a very painful experience for you and your family. The fact that you had to also deal with such a cold and uncaring bishop made the situation that much more devastating! I think that I would put my thoughts in writing as Setheus suggest ... that might help the next person that has to face such a situation. Ultimately however, I like Amillia's answer ... to focus on the positive deeds of your mother when she was alive and not on the mistreatment of her funeral. May God bless you and your family and give you the strength to forgive and move on.

Toa, I'm quite satisfied being a member of the LDS church. I know from your post, why you "say" that you visit the LDS board but ... I think that deep down, you still have feelings or beliefs for the LDS church as well. Best regards in your quest to sort things out!

Dale, I'm glad to hear that you enjoy reading the BoM. I also think that it contains some awesome information!
-
SF, I like the tips that you have posted. I would like to add two more to your list however: 1. some basic self-defense training. 2. Carry a loud personal alarm and/or some pepper spray. It really is a shame that there are such sick individuals roaming around and looking for an easy victim to prey upon. ps. even a macho-man can be a victim so everyone should be observant!

Writer Chick, I like the passage too. Best regards to you and your family!

Outshined, I'm glad that you shared your website. http://www.ilikelife.com. I think that I have found some very usable resources there. I also enjoyed your comments to Chicago-Guy. I hope the information helped him in his struggles with his faith and how it might effect his precious family.

I'm glad that I missed this thread until it was deleted. I don't need to read filth. An intelligent discussion between individuals with different points of view can be a very interesting mental stimulation. When one or both parties loose decorum and stoop to mud slinging, name calling and profanity then it's just a sleazy, contemptible ... in the gutter burleasque show. For which I'll pass up!

The BoM and the church are true for me. However, I respect other peoples rights to their own beliefs. That is one of the principles that this great nation was founded upon and one that which we should all cherish!
-
Writer-Chick, Now I know where you get some of your wisdom and compassion for others. You seem to have a very loving and caring mother. (The poor boy has been placed 7 times in less than 5 years.) I think that God placed the little boy in your home for that reason! I don't know if your mom can be sealed to him but IMO, God wants us to be happy in Heaven. I think that such a just, compassionate and omnipoent God would be more than willing to reward this caring family the joy of being united together in Heaven. I'm sure that God will bestow a great many blessings on your family for opening your home and your compassionate hearts to one of his little vulnerable ones. In a perfect world there wouldn't be ( what some see as unwanted, throwaway children), but since we don't live in a perfect world ... it is very inspiring to see a family willing to accept the personal sacrifices necessary to open their hearts and home and care for these children. May God bless you and your family!

Winnie G. , Sounds like you are going to have a fun trip this summer!

Winnie G. Good one! One little point however: 1L= 33.82 oz. 4L=135.3 oz. 1gal.=128oz. so instead of L@$.92 X4=4L = 1gal. @$3.68 it would be closer to : L@$.92 = 33.82 oz. or $.0272 per oz. X 128 oz. =$3.48 per gal. Which is still not my cup of tea.
