TS, Your web links were interesting! :) When I read your post about clones, I kept thinking about a fiction thriller that I had read called; "The Third Twin" by Ken Follett ... If you get a chance to read it, you might like it. (How can two grown men, identical in appearance, be born weeks apart to different mothers?)

SF, IMO, someday science will advance to the level that it will be able to help people like Terry. I wonder how many people that thought Terry's feeding tube should be removed .... now have living will directives, to speak for them when they are unable? You have a perfect right to express your opinion on a subject. I read your earlier post about Terry, your son Nick and your teaching young ladies about self worth. You have genuine empathy for others. That is why ... on another thread that I said, " You were one special Lady". :)

You don't know how close you are with this one believe me.....I was convinced I was worthless.... and it was my friends who kept me hoping for a better life after marriage. I had (and still have) the best friends anyone could ever ask for! Lindy, I think that your very cool, and I enjoy reading your post! :)

Snow, Thanks for sharing. The Joseph Smith papers project appears to be a very impressive undertaking! :)

TS, A clone would only be a copy of an individual being. It would look the same, sound the same, but it would not be the same. It would not have the same life experiences and would more than likely deviate in thought and behavior from the original from time to time.

InLuv, Also be aware that all people on christian chat lines are not christian.! Some are there to prey upon the most naive.
-
Maureen, I'm happy to hear that at your nephew's wedding the church was thoughtful enough to also consider non-members of LDS families. :)

Lindy, When I read these post, I especially enjoy reading about the kind and compassionate deeds that some are doing for others. It's kind of a re-affirmation of what mankind can do on a higher level, when they have a goal and purpose in live ... instead of digressing to a lower level of dog eat dog mentality. :)

SF, I have a factory job at night and I work construction during the day. I live in the mid-west. My garden is about 150 ft. x 100 ft. I grow extra produce for my mother, my brother and some elderly neighbors that are too disabled to care for a garden. :) After the storm my bother went outside and filled a bucket with hail and put it in the freezer. He showed it to me the next day and they were all golf ball to baseball in size. Before this storm, I had never seen hail so large or destructive before. Home owners insurance will cover some of the damage, but you have to have a special flood insurance for flooded basement damage however.

john doe, Those little dogs are part of the family. I would just as soon as have a bowl of Wendy's finger Chile than, potage de creme chiot. (puppy cream soup)

SF, I'm just fine. I'm working 60 to 80 hours per week. I have a very large garden. I planted corn, beans, onions, garlic, tomatoes, peppers, watermelons, cantaloupe, zucchini, cucumbers and pumpkins. About 1 1/2 months ago we had a terrible storm that flooded streets and basements. We had baseball and softball size hail. Thousands of homes and cars were damaged by it. At one of my jobs about 30 cars had windows broken out by the hail. I've never seen anything like it before. I've been riding my bike a great deal lately. I did drive the day of the storm though. The car on either side of me had their windows broken out, but I only had a broken mirror and some dents from the hail. I had to replant a great deal of my garden. Most of my friends, my brother, my mother, and myself have a great deal of work to do to fix windows, siding, and roofs on our homes.

SF, I'm glad to hear that your talents are being made use of to teach young women. :) I hope that some will emulate the empathy that you have for others. :) I was very impressed with your element of self esteem idea. You are one very special Lady! :) Keep up the good work! Everyone needs to feel that they have self worth. :) :)

Franken, Cute dogs! Don't spoil Cleo though... a bird told me that the other dogs were turned away from the camera because they were protesting all the attention Cleo was getting. You should have at least told us their names as well.

Hi Heather, Good luck on your new business venture! :)

Snow,I checked on the internet and it said that Grace Kelly suffered a stroke while driving and died 9/13/82, but if your friend told you that about the affair ... then it must be true lol! And for her to go to school in her underwear ... that must have been very embarrassing lol!

Outshined, I like that web link too. It allows me to take in a little of the conference at a time. :) I can also go back over topics that are not clear to me.

Laureltree, I hope you have a fun, exciting and relaxing vacation!!

hfavaron, We all have family histories. Some people have an easier time finding their ancestors than others. President Joseph Smith associated family history and temple work with love for mankind. :) In 1894 members of the church were instructed in the sacred role of family history work when President Wilford Woodruff declared, "We want the Latter day Saints from this time to trace their genealogies as far as they can, and to be sealed to their fathers and mothers. Have children sealed to their parents, and run this chain through as far as you can get it ... so that temple ordinances can be performed in behalf of deceased ancestors who did not have the opportunity to hear the restored gospel during mortal life..." When persons die we are taught that their spirit continues living in the postmortal spirit world and are capable of making choices, called agency. If the spirit doesn't accept the church of Jesus Christ and baptism ... then it is of no effect. The same is true of the other saving ordinances that members perform in the temples in behalf of the dead.

Snow, Yes, you are right... I took another look at the web link and read under Dr. John Clark that he ask that Matthew Roper and Wade Ardern be credited as co-authors for his presentation. I'm sure that either Sunstone or Fair would be very enjoyable to attend and testimony building! :)

Franken, After reading estump's post to Clive Romney, I see that he is a very talented producer, songwriter, arranger and musician. I can see where it would be a tough call on your part to have to chose between a pressing summer activity, or to intern under such an accomplished individual.
-
estump, Thank you for the information! :)

Snow, Dr. Clark, noted archaeologist and one of the speakers at the Library of Congress Joseph Smith event has teamed up with Matthew Roper and Wade Ardern to bring a conference talk titled "Debating the Foundations of Mormonism: The Book of Mormon and Archaeology." Aug. 4th&5th, 2005 http://www.fairlds.org/conf05a.html. :)
