  1. I have to say that no one is full blooded anything. I too believe that now with the Priesthood being available to all worthy male members this issue is a non-issue. We are all God's children. I must say I don't understand the ban to begin with but, for some reason Heavenly Father kept it and now in His timing He has stopped it. And, I am okay with not knowing the why of it all for now. I also have a hard time with the last option in the poll , Racism will have nothing to do with it . That is our hangup not our Heavenly Father's.
  2. I had no problem coming up with this answer. The Church!! I had a messed up life but the day the missionaries came it was like Knights in shining armour upon white steeds!! I have hope and know that, no life is not meaningless and has a very specific purpose. I know I am a new convert and probably sound zealous. But , I pray I never lose this sense of knowing...
  3. Welcome tlazer!! You are most assuredly welcome here. I came to this site as a non Mormon myself and now I am a member. It's a great site full of kind caring people. You're going to love it here , trust me!!! If you need anything don't hesitate to ask ...
  4. Welcome Gator to LDSnet. It is a wonderful caring place and I don't think there is anything here you could ask or say that would shock anyone. At least one of us has been there or done that. When you are ready we are here.:)
  5. I just read aneww article at jesuschrist.org and in it speaks of Heavenly Mother so I thought I would share it... Why is Jesus Called the Son of God? | Jesus Christ
  6. This proves my point Ogre is one of them!!! See they are all nice good folk!!!:D:D
  7. I had something that happened today that shows how something small can make a difference. I belong to another forum site for survivors of abuse and I shared my faith and the trials that still come up. And a brother I don't know on that site wrote me an email and said some of the most encouraging and thoughtful words and ended it with how he submitted my name to the Salt Lake Temple Roll. (Look here I am crying again...) It meant so much to me because someone who doesn't really know me took the time to care for a fellow Saint... I am here in New York and He is in Utah. (I know on some other threads there have been comments about the supposed negativity of Utah Mormons well, I don't see it.) I am so thankful for this Church and thank Heavenly Father for all of you and especially for the two wonderful elders who took the time to help a nobody become a somebody.
  8. I would say "my happy" is having a good book on a rainy day and sitting with a blanket over me. It's the sense of feeling safe with no worries or cares.
  9. Oh yes I will do it just let me know where to send them. I think this is just wonderful!!!
  10. Interalia first off my heart breaks for you tonight. I wish I had the perfect answer to what's confusing you. But , alas like so many in the Church as well as the world, I am ignorant of all the perplexities of ais and GID. So I am afraid that my answer will seem ignorant at best... Now I am speaking from personal expierence that things happen to us in this earthly life that boggle the mind. And, like prospectmom said my only comfort (Which sometimes doesn't offer much comfort:() is that someday my Heavenly Parents will explain to me why this was the way it was and why I was given this or that trial. Trust me my friend and fellow Saint I know when you are in the "darkness" this seems like a worn out cliche. (And let me clarify what I mean by the "darkness" is what I call the sense of being alone and feeling like no one knows where I am coming from and the depression and darts of the enemy come all about...) I honestly believe this trial you have been given in no way makes you any less than any of us. I remember reading in a post where you said that Heavenly Father has given you a message to those like you. I feel in my own Spirit that this is true. PLEASE HANG IN THERE AND DON'T GIVE UP!! I will make you a promise I will read some this week online and try and learn some more about ais and GID so , I can be of more help to you. You are not alone Interalia.
  11. IMO a young man of 13 yrs of age has the right to decide how much medical treatment he recieves. If this young man and his family wish to try alternative medicines more power to them. The goverment is once again getting involved where they do not belong! Chemo and radiation are putting poisons into your body I don't believe they are always the best solution. I mean what's next if your religious beliefs are contrary to what the goverment deems acceptable they can come in and take our children??? Wait a minute that already happened ! Remember the FLDS?????
  12. Okay I am going to probably show my ignorance here ... But, I always had one question about the whole evolution theory. And no science teacher I had would answer it. If evolution is true then why did it stop? I mean shouldn't we still be progressing??? I mean to an Atheist is this our highest possiblity as humans?
  13. Now from what I understand from your post you spoke to Heavenly Father about this incident before you acted upon it. I am curious is it that you felt God knew what you were going to do already and He was alright with it? I have to agree with others who have already posted here I don't know if your remorse is because of what Heavenly Father feels or because of what man might say or do...? I honestly believe that you can be forgiven and restored to full fellowship. But, I feel you need to reflect more on your motivation for this return. The Bishopric and the Stake Presidency are there to help you not punish you. But they can't help you if you don't reach out to them. You are in my prayers brother. Hang in there....
  14. I will add you to my prayers. Hang in there brother!!! All I can do is testify to you that this is the truth and that satan is using these things to confuse you. Please don't give up.....
  15. Welcome Carl!!! This is a great site with lots of good caring folks.... I hope to get to know you better. And, I am so glad you have come home!:)
  16. Now I am speaking for myself but, after awhile you get tired of trying to fix other nations problems. All we seem to get for it is world scorn as if America seems to go in to these hotspots around the world just to show our might ect. Look how our troops are treated, the last time we went to Africa (Somalia) we were treated hostily. Take Iraq now and Afghanistan... Are we treated as liberating hereos? NO we are looked at as infidels ect. And as for the Middle East there will never be peace.... I have family in Israel , I have been there. There will always be antagonizers from BOTH sides ( Israeli and Arab) It's part of the culture... Speaking as one American citizen I am tired of being treated as the enemy by the very nations we try to assist. After awhile you say enough is enough.
  17. BJW I just wanted to add that Joseph Smith was a Prophet but, he was also human. So, many times I think people assume that a Prophet of God is "perfect" all of the time not so... When they are performing their duties as a spokesperson for Heavenly Father the answer is yes but then there are the times they are just people like us with doubts and fears ect. Look at Moses he wasn't able to enter the promised land because of his sinful nature. IMO it makes the truth of this Church no less. In fact it gives me hope that God understands my shortcomings... I agree with jadams if it's not working with this ward find another. It reminds me of the old saying , " Don't throw out the baby with the bath water." The truthfulness of the restored gospel has nothing to do with the failings of us weak humans...:)
  18. First I would like to say thank you to all who have responded. You have all been very helpful and kind. It really boils down to this for myself it is all self image hangups.... I need to start looking at what I am in Heavenly Father's eyes and not what my past dictates. I am trying. I am a work in progress....:)

I think to limit it to one denomination is impossible. Even those churches outside the Roman Catholic church, eg. , Protestantism. Teach the doctrines of their Catholic fore fathers. So the "abominations" are universal. Hence IMO there are but two churches as the Book of Mormon states .
  20. From what I understand the answer is No... That is one of the reasons this Professor Toscano was excommunicated. To answer another question asked by others about my post here on this subject. The reason I felt bad about this post was not because of the question. It was because the author of this article was an excommunicated member of the Church! I didn't know this and don't want to be a part of her apostasy. I feel sad for her the thought that she has lost her blessings....
  21. That would make sense ... Converts know what it is like to be on the outside looking in. We know what it's like to walk in and not be welcomed in a way we feel appropriate. So, we make the effort to ease that anxiety on a newer member.
  22. Welcome Ezra! I know you'll love it here! It's a great place to be with good people and lots of fun and learning!! Be well !!!
  23. Please don't feel bad bytebear. I have enough guilt! You live and learn. I just thank you for being nice enough to share with me.
  24. What an interesting life! It's nice to meet you. I am a wanna be writer myself maybe someday... Welcome to the forum hope to get to know you better.:)
  25. I just sent a message to Pam asking her to delete the thread. I really had no idea. I guess as a new member I have to be careful to check sources. I feel so guilty right now!
