  1. And everyone thought we were just coocoos with our conspiracy theories.
  2. I say we start a petition to have Congres give a bail-out to the American people. Let's see there's approximately 305,623,506 in the US*. If we ask for a three trillion dollar bail-out that's about ten thousand dollars for each person. What do you say? I say let's do it! *According to the U.S. Bureau of the Census projected to 01/16/09 at 05:04 GMT (EST+5).
  3. That's a great idea to have a day of service but I will not be celebrating Obama becoming president.
  4. I'd like to throw in some two cents. I personally believe that God was once a spirit child of His god, then He went to a world, got a body then received salvation. But in my version our God is the God of the entire universe. If we progress to become gods we will have our own universe. God's god had his own universe. It's not that we each "get our own planet" because that would mean that there would be many gods in this universe with their own planet. If you travelled to another planet you woud have another god to choose from.
  5. I've noticed some interesting tidbits in the First Book of Adam.
  6. Well I guess I can tell you. the new direction we are heading is not to create in independant government. Instead we are focusing on something much more basic and arguable more important. We are establishing a movement to create an economically independant region. Not secceeding from the union but creating a region that can be economically stable dispite outside influences. There will be many similar things with the old project such as the deseret alphabet and the name Nation of Deseret. But there will be many new ideas too. The goal is that if something ever happened that cause the United States to fall apart the "Nation of Deseret" would be minimally affected. This movement will, eventually, impact most areas of life, transportation, energy, education, media, agriculture, etc. EDIT: The flag design will be different too.
  7. I've also heard that every person will be able to hear the gospel in their own language. Not sure if it's a prophecy or not. I thinh that person will have the chance to be taught by missionaries. So not only every country being open to missionaries but having sufficient numbers of missionaries in those countries.
  8. More please. Sounds a bit like Iglesia ni Cristo
  9. I read somewhere, probably these forums, that in Joseph Smith's day they ate meat with almost every meal. And at banquets it was common to have six or seven different kinds of meat. I guess if you wanted some meat you could always say, "Well I'm cold." Hahaha.
  10. I'm pretty sure that I didn't see that design before the NoD flag was created. And if you compare the designs the only thing that is the same is the white background and most of the three horizonatal lines(again from observation only). The design I had seen was that "church" flag that was in the upper part of that link you gave. That's a design I have seen before. But as I said don't worry all of this will be taken care of shortly.
  11. I think that we also chose them. I don't think that it was an assignment made but something we gave our consent to.
  12. The problem I have with the "localized" flood is that the flood was supposed to be the earths baptism of water. unless the subject is completely submerged in water it's not a proper baptism. That's why the saviour taught in parables. There was no real "good samaritan" but we learn important lessons from the story.
  13. The design did come from scratch. My "very thorough knowledge of the 'differences' between the two designs" is because I clicked on the link you provided and compared them. It's not that hard to do. The hard thing to do would be to prove it was a derivative work or not. Similarity does not equal derivative. rayhale as I said all of these things will be taken care of in the next couple months.
  14. I must have missed something. I've never heard a story about a talking donkey.
  15. Don't worry. From what I've been in on, many of these problems will be taken care of in the upcoming months.
  16. I'm just curious, what are your opinons? Do you think the Bible is 100% literal(not counting that parts that are clearly stated as fiction, such as parables). Or do you think some of the stories are literal and other's aren't. Or do you think it is 100% figurative. If you think that some stories are fictional then please state which ones.
  17. I don't want to be contentious but I disagree with this statement. I don't believe that our placement on this earth is due to our valiance in the Pre-mortal life. There were some many infinite factors that determined our current position, that saying that our valiance is the single one is untrue. Sorry. I'm sure you didn't mean it to be like that but it just kind of runs me the wrong way. I think it's best if we say only Heavenly Father knows why people are born in certain circumstances. Because truthfully He's the only one that knows.
  18. rayhale, I am currently rewriting the NoD website. The result, while using the same template, will be vastely different than the current website.
  19. Well the NoD is kind of going back to the drawing board for now. But the NoD flag does have some similarities to the Mormon Heritage Flag but there are some distinct differences. The central portion of the NoD flag is centered while the central portion of the MH flag is offset to the left. The MH flag has two thin blue cricles that surround the star. the NoD flag has one thick blue circle with fifty embattlements along the inside edge of the circle. Both Flags contain a twelve pointed star in the center of the circle. However the star of the MH flag has hollow rays with a blue line down the center of each ray. The NoD flag has solid rays and also has the white outline of the Star of David in the center of the larger star. It is obvious that the two flags are similar but they are clearly NOT the same flag.
  20. Our Final Judgement will not be based on our pre-mortal acivities. We have already been judged for those. If you are living on the earth then you passed that judgement. If you are a spirit working for satan and don't have a physical body then you didn't pass. Christ is there to work for a positive judgement on our behalf. Kind of like a defense lawyer(crude analogy). God the Father must pass a judgement that will satisfy justice. Only through Christ can we have mercy. I personally believe(or maybe hope) that most judgements will be generous. I think we will our worst judge. I mean how many of us believe we will go to the celestial kingdom. I mean seriously deep down. I hope to go to the celestial kingdom. I hope my faults can be overlooked through mercy. But do I honestly believe that I'll go to the celestial kingdom....I don't know.
  21. I believe lifted up is a figurative word. We also use the word caught up. I don't think any bdy living on the earth will suddenly develp the ability to fly. I believe it means that our bodies will be changed into a higher state of being, Terrestrial.
  22. I watched it a while ago. I found the second the third parts very interesting. I didn't watch the first part.
  23. I'm sure the missionaries at least would invite her. But inviting someone is different than pushing her to attend. The church is family centered. I'm sure most people would rather see a family stay together then trying to make one spouse attend. My great Grandparents were in a similar situation My Great grandfather was JW and my great grandmother was LDS. Their compromise was no religion in the home and anyreligion you want outside the home. Not the best compromise.
