Just was noticing it sounded like Scientology. In answer to your question I think to be Christian you have to be a disciple of Christ. A follower of Christ. I do not feel you have to believe in any particular doctrine but just believe that He is the Christ. Now if you want to talk doctrine etc well that is describing the kind of Christian not whether a person is a Christian.

Its even cheaper if you butcher and package your own.

She is a perfect mate for you Vort. :) I like her first choice of not going at all. :) I still would not wear it. The more I think about it the more I realize I do not respect them for how they treat women so frankly I dont care how they feel about how I dress.

I am not impressed with that review. For one thing he doubts its can be true that an abuser will pick one child to abuse and not abuse the rest. He obviously does not know much about abuse which throws his other criticisms into doubt. I remember seeing the guy once on tv. He has been described as narcissistic and a huge self promoter. That is not what I saw. He was a nerdy looking guy who seemed very uncomfortable on the set. He did seem very determined to make people aware. I am with you sister-in-faith. I think its true.

I dont live in a state that it is legal. Are you sure its legal on those 43 states? 4. I dont have an opinion on government interfering with marriage. Oddly I never thought of the story as one to convict the mother. It is about his experiences not his mothers or his siblings either. No doubt he would have seen it differently than the siblings. We all color things by our own personalities. I think to some experiences in my childhood that shaped some of my thinking. The might not seem even worth remember to some or even most but they were important to me. Now in abuse it is true that he either was or wasn't. Still another child who did not have that happen to them might not have even paid attention. It would have just been the way it was. No doubt they would have avoided any conflicts so that they would not be involved or hurt. What were the contradictions? Do you remember?

I am going to second this. I will be respectful of peoples beliefs but I will not be treated as a second class person. People are trying to help women in barqa wearing countries to have civil rights not go there and follow those same restrictive traditions. There are some lines you just can not cross. Vort did you ask your wifes opinion on if she would be willing to wear the barqa? Sorry I am not spelling it right. My mind blocks horrors for me. :)

hmm I dont think they were temporary. I am not a scholar on Catholic practices but I do know that when my fathers boss died his wife paid 10k to the church. During the funeral the priest told the attendees that the man's wife had lessened his time in hmm was it perdition?, anyway it had helped get him to heaven sooner. That was about 1968 or so. Whatever your religion I am not saying you are selling indulgences or anything of the sort, PrisonChaplain just so you know. I rather prefer this version. God breathed just sounds odd to me. :) I see nothing wrong with this verse providing its not mistranslated and is actually scripture. lol. Remembering of course the Songs of Solomon. Considering how the Bible came about sometimes its confusing what is actually inspired scripture and what has been added to or changed in the Bible by people who were not inspired.

It is important to fit in. Which it wouldnt be if we all lived a more Christ like life. People who are new to the church have to go out and get new clothes just to go to church. My soninlaw has agreed to a baptism date. Now I know he has no suit or even slacks and white shirt, let alone a tie. He also has a very long ponytail and he is a stay at home dad. Now what is going to happen to him? Is his clean shirt with clean pants not good enough for God? I say it is. Is it good enough for his ward? I guess we will see.

That is pretty much how I see it too. It is in most everyones self interest, realized or not, to have it not be true.

God can inspire us but we dont always listen.

I absolutely agree. Remember it was Adam and Eve who hid their nakedness from God not God giving them clothes to cover themselves. I think God just wants us to come to church.
