  1. My wife and I have three daughters.   The youngest daughter lived with us longer than any of our four kids.  My wife and her did not always see eye to eye.  After she got married and moved out of the house their relationship is very strong today.   Our youngest daughter will tell you it was all her fault because she needed to move out and grow up.  Marriage provided that for her.

    All is well

I just had to share this because I seriously am so grateful for you men that are willing and able to use your Priesthood in giving blessings when they are needed.

Long story short, a couple of weeks ago I had a mini stroke which caused me to fall completely back down a flight of stairs and hit my head on the concrete slab at the bottom.  That happened on a Saturday in New Hampshire while visiting my daughter.

Once I returned home I attempted to contact people in my ward and ask for a Priesthood blessing.  No one returned my phone call.

On Thursday I was attending my weekly BYU-I Pathway program gathering and I asked a couple of the men in my class if they would be willing to give me a blessing.  They jumped at the chance.  The one that did the annointing does not speak English that well. So he did it in his native tongue of Portuguese.  It was the most beautiful thing ever.  I was in tears as the Spirit was so strong even though I couldn't understand anything he said.  The other man that did the blessing gave the most wonderful blessing.  Let's just say it was probably the most beautiful blessing experience I've ever had.

I realized once again that night that it doesn't matter what language you speak, the Priesthood works in the same way.

So thank you to you men who remain worthy and are so willing to use your Priesthood in cases like this.

I say this and it's my opinion .......perhaps those other brethren did not return your calls because the two who gave the blessing were the ones who needed to ....Lord works in mysterious ways.   Again .....my opinion.

  3. True story .....I know someone who was called upon to give a blessing to someone from a family member.   The person who was going to get said blessing was in a coma from a drug overdose.   This was a self inflicted drug overdoes.  None of the members of this family were religious. The reason they called upon this church member was the Dr to,d them if they had a family minister they needed to get him to this hospital asap.  They didn't expect this person to live thru the night.  This family did not have anyone or a minister.  They called this church member because he was th only person close to what the Dr told them to do.

This church member drove to the hospital and on the way kept praying in his heart for guidance and to know what to say. Pulled into parking lot and offered a pray.  Once in the room he layer his hands on this person and gave a blessing and pronounced ....this person would be walking out of the hospital in 3-4 days.  The family questioned him extensively about what he said.   Four days later ....this person was at home.
