  1. Amish, the simple life is for me.
  2. Or worse, I bought witcher 2 because it was on sale in steam. Absolutely great game... terrible though, it's just filled with filth. I can't even play it. I guess I should take a gander at ratings before I react to sales eh?
  3. I don't because $$$, I used to want to get a p229, but I've since realized those are way out of my price range. I want a mini 14 too, also out of my price range. More realistically I'd like a pump shotgun, a .22 long gun, or a .40 high point (Because cheap)
  4. There's 9, and many of them aren't just "sycamore ward". LDS.org has a feature that let's you search for wards. Mine shows like 111 results. I like 2nd ward!
  5. How are they ventless? They just store the moisture and send it down the drain somehow? (this fascinates me for some reason lol)
  6. 2nd ward. haha.
  7. Well, looking at the secular world, apparently a lot.
  8. Well, it washes and dryes your clothes, doesn't drop them into a basket though http://www.sears.com/lg-4.3-cu-ft-ultra-large-capacity-front-load/p-02602542000P?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1
  9. Well that wasn't hard to sway me now was it.
  10. I don't have an issue with the current system, I guess I should've quoted them but jane_doe and jag said they are okay with a paid clergy. This is different than a stipend for those who cannot provide for themselves (which is also exempted in Mosiah). Where exactly are those passages in the D&C?
  11. definitely the interwebz Oh and those machines that hurtle us at 100mph to where we need to go. I mean 55 mph, 55, not 100. I don't drive that fast.
  12. Not sure if this is relevant or not, I thought of it after I woke up to go peek at the blood moon and realized I couldn't fall asleep. Is there an inherit conflict in paid clergy and our stipulation of not working on the Sabbath? Are you serving the lord if you are profiting from your service? I for one do take issue with paid clergy, this is even talked about in the BofM when... King Mosiah I believe... insisted priests, and himself, labor for their living and not be paid for their service to the lord. I believe it's also mentioned elsewhere.
  13. I don't really care what meaning you personally glean from one hymn we sing. We don't worship our prophets. We don't worship Joseph Smith Jr. It's like telling a catholic that they worship their Saints, ask any catholic, they don't. It's just a popular lie, propaganda if you will, that certain people use to make us look bad.
  14. I am under the impression only GA's that aren't financially backed well enough to tend their own receive a stipend. You have to admit, this is much different than a paid clergy.
  15. That's almost as bad as Americans turning Britain's national anthem into a patriotic American song. Oh my. But seriously? One group revising a song in a respectful manner is disgusting? Are you attempting to be sarcastic and I'm just not catching it?
  16. Now we are talking. I want to explore out past the roughly 46 billion light years out that we are limited to seeing currently.
  17. Cloud Vaulting!
  18. I haven't nailed it down yet, but I suspect it is this site. Firefox allows it's preferred language to be changed by an individual site, and it seems to me that after I visit lds.net, my firefox is set to English(UK) instead of English(US), and we all know how wonky those brits are at spelling Does anyone else that use firefox have this problem? (I'm not even sure it's lds.net that's doing it)
  19. I have to admit, I find the colors jarring but only because of the men in black suits next to the sisters. If they'd give the men colored jackets or give the sisters nun's outfits, either one would soothe me.
  20. I was trying to think of a reply but couldn't get it into words, omegaseamaster however seems to have read my mind and posted for me
  21. I'm not attempting to say panic, I am just trying to think, what is realistic that *could* happen that's terrible, if that makes any sense. Cautious pessimism?
  22. The scary thought, is we don't know for certain where the disease hides between outbreaks (I know fruit bats are suspect). What if there is no outbreak, but the carrier species picks it up here and then we get, ta da, outbreaks every so often like Africa has. Sure ours will be smaller and better contained, but now we gotta deal with it for a long time if that happens.
  23. Protesting the Lord is one thing, protesting silly BYU policies however I fully endorse. Beardism must die! (I'm only 1/4 joking, it's rediculous that a man must be clean shaven to be professional, at least here on the west coast, it's also becoming a forgotten relic of the counter-counter-culture movement)
  24. I got that once too, the way I fixed it was to clear my cache and cookies so that the site wouldn't remember the preference. Just in case you accidentally got stuck again.
