  1. It would be fantastic to have some sort of guide for working with it. Loving the upgrade but missing some fantastic older features like \"new posts\", and the way following topics works isn\'t clear yet to me. Time to click lots of stuff :)
  2. I was thinking former mormon, but you wouldn\'t have to be an anti for that title.
  3. My beard won't have a bare patch on my cheek so that I can grow it. My idea though is pretty generic, we'll have a perfected hierarchical society, I picture gardens all over the place and that we will have lots of work to get done. Honestly I'm not concerned about the details, I just hope one day I can get there to find out.
  4. I once heard an analogy I liked, it likened God to a programmer. Some believe God programmed every program (designed every living being), which would be pretty impressive. Other's believe God created a program so awesome, that it eventually became every program (single common ancestor evolving into all the current life forms) I think that's much more incredible. If our origins are bothering you, I'd suggest you go and slowly read Genesis, Abraham, and Moses. Do so prayerfully and maybe even have the institute manual by your side to aid in studying.
  5. I think that has merit. According to wikipedia the lyricist, Tim Rice, has been quoted as saying "It happens that we don't see Christ as God but simply the right man at the right time at the right place" Their reference is Time, November 9, 1970. I don't have access to any catalog to actually confirm that quote.
  6. According to his site, he doesn't get money from the iTunes downloads, so skip the iTunes and use his other link for digital copies. I'm so getting his guitar tablature book to try and learn some of these!
  7. Just because I was curious ( I thought the oldest civ was about 6k years ago, and writing was around 5k years ago) I googled and found this as the first hit, 12 THOUSAND year old civilization discovered! | elephant journal interesting at first glance for sure. Sorry if I'm wandering off topic.
  8. Orson Scott Card 2nding Brandon Sanderson 2nding Robert Jordan
  9. "mass of cells" "Potential person" "reproductive rights" "all people should be able to marry who they want" ( you can't have multiple spouses, and definitely keep it out of the family, 'cuz those things are gross, but if you say perversion I support is gross, you have a phobia and need help, also these so called life-time arrangements should be able to be terminated with the greatest of ease) Global Cooling ...er... Global Warming ...er... Global Warming causing Cooling for some area's ...er... Climate Change, it's ambiguous! apparently these forums don't support the strikethrough text tag...
  10. So, like... where's the actual essay? Me can't find it on lds.org, me click lots of thingies but no find. halp meeeeeeee. edit: Ah ha! There she is! Hiding in front of my face like that. https://www.lds.org/topics/becoming-like-god?lang=eng
  11. S3? Yeah, I'd get a new one. I'd get one with Andriod Kit Kat on it
  12. I see it in the drive for political correctness. I see it in our language, in the way connotations are twisted and formed in the public's eye.
  13. I love Feburary - April, but my wife just about dies, all of the orchards bloom and paint everything in yellow dust in our town. I think it smells and looks great. My wife's nose doesn't stop running for two months straight.
  14. If that happens I'm definitely watching it.
  15. I'm wondering if I'm the only one that is seeing this through mud. Not keeping secrets from my spouse is different than regurgitating everything I see and hear to her at all times. If it comes up or I just feel like sharing it, I do so. If it doesn't come up, it doesn't come up. But that's not keeping a secret. I actually assumed before reading this thread that anything I tell anyone, is subject to maybe be retold to their spouse or best friend, and possibly facebooked to the world to boot.
  16. It would make skipping traffic much more fun, instead of riding between lanes I could ride OVER THEM.
  17. 1. What religion do you subscribe to? (Since not all of us are LDS.) LDS 2. Were you born into, or converted to your religion? First I was born into it, later I truly converted. 3. Are you a devout, casual, or inactive member of your religion? Devout, although I can't attend meetings at this time, so inactive in that sense. 4. What is one core principle in your religion that you feel strongly about? Eternal Family 5. What is one misconception that outsiders have about your religion? Our belief of becoming joint heirs with Christ. 6. Name one religion that fascinates you. I'll pick the Abrahamic faith I know the least about, Islam. I'd love to learn more about it.
  18. Cool, but I did no such comparison. I wasn't hinging anything on becoming addicted. It turns out you don't have to become addicted to something for it to have a negative impact. I hinged nothing on one becoming an addict. That wasn't the point. The point was behavioral reward and where it's coming from. The hinging was that the intercourse was a part of a healthy relationship, which took effort and discipline to maintain. You are still distorting my position.
  19. I'm really not sure how on earth you derived that. That, imho, is a willful distortion of what I said. I was really considering what you were saying until I hit that line.
  20. And then there's the tax breaks and legal benefits.
  21. I would say it's clearly not a cheap high. I agree. It's even more harmful in that it harms far more than just yourself.
  22. No, no no. I'm not even sure how to articulate what I meant. Mastubation/Pornography - addictive cheap high, Cheap in terms of commitment, selfish, you don't need to put a lot of effort into it. Morphine - addictive cheap high Intercourse with Wife - Not selfish, requires maintaining relationship, a deeper more meaningful "high" Exercise - Requires commitment, expands energy and requires dicipline to earn your deeper more meaningful "high" I was using another example we could all agree on to show why masturbation is different than intercourse. I think we'd all agree the high you get from a good work out and the high you get from a substance are very different, and one affects you positively while the other affects you negatively and I felt that is directly relevant to the masturbation vs intercourse question posed.
  23. I find that to be sort of like asking why the endorphin's released from exercising and Morphine are different from each other.
