  1. You jest, but truthfully, one of the issues faced by federal law enforcement is that hunted criminals often make an effort to escape to Mexico. "Make a run for the border" so to speak.
  2. By accepting that you are an "exception," your excuse will be over ruled. But, expect that most every rule has an exception. Accept it.
  3. On the surface (pun intended), I can see why you wouldn't really see the value of taxpayer dollars being used for some "cool" pictures of Mars and day dreams of future space colonies. Seems like we have much larger issues that need to be tackled here on Earth for which the money could be better spent. I suppose that barely 100 years ago mankind never really conceived of how satellites in orbit would become an integral part of our communications technology, either. Yet here we are. What will space be used for over the next 100 years? Does our nation have a vested interest in being on the forefront of developing those technologies? Should we be content to be beholden to other countries and whether they will be willing to share that technology with us? What if that nation turns out to be an enemy? Much like exploring oceans in international waters around us, the case can be made that we need to be able to protect our interests, including anticipating problems that surround our lands and borders. If you believe that a national defense is a legitimate use of governmental power, then surely you see the value of protecting our satellites and our nation from the "outer" space immediately surrounding our airspace. This would include threats made by our enemies against our communications systems "up there." The truth is, the space race is ongoing and is beginning to push further outward. While private companies like Space X are attempting to make profit from these ventures, so far, nobody knows whether they can be successful in the long term.
  4. From the Bible dictionary: Death "Two kinds of death are spoken of in the scriptures. One is the death of the body, which is caused by the separation of the body from the spirit; “The body without the spirit is dead” (James 2:26). The other is spiritual death, which is to die as pertaining to, or to be separated from, righteousness—to be alienated from the things of God (Alma 12:16, 32; 40:26). Both of these deaths were introduced into the world by the Fall of Adam. But death is also the consequence of our own sins. We make our own spiritual death by our works, our thoughts, and our actions. As Paul said, “The wages of sin is death” (Rom. 6:23), and some are “dead” while they live (1 Tim. 5:6). In explaining these things, Jacob called the physical death the grave and spiritual death he called hell. The Atonement of Jesus Christ will bring all persons back into the presence of God to be judged, the body coming forth from the grave and uniting with the spirit released from paradise or from hell (as the case may be). This will restore all mankind to the presence of God. This is the same as Paul spoke: “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive” (1 Cor. 15:21–23). Then those who have willfully rebelled against the light and truth of the gospel will suffer again a spiritual death, which is called the second death (Rev. 20:14; Alma 12:16–18; Hel. 14:16–19; D&C 76:36–37). Each person suffers only one physical death, since when once resurrected, the body can die no more (Alma 11:42–45). Latter-day revelation teaches that there was no death on this earth before the Fall of Adam. Indeed, death entered the world as a direct result of the Fall (2 Ne. 2:22; Moses 6:48)."
  5. The doctrines set forth by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints concerning the degrees of glory are simple to understand. Primary children can easily explain them. There is no pretended mystery. Elder Dallin H. Oaks April 1995 General Conference "In their final judgment, the children of God will be assigned to a kingdom of glory for which their obedience has qualified them. In his letters to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul described these places. He told of a vision in which he was “caught up to the third heaven” and “heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter” (2 Cor. 12:2, 4). Speaking of the resurrection of the dead, he described “celestial bodies,” “bodies terrestrial” (1 Cor. 15:40), and “bodies telestial” (JST, 1 Cor. 15:40), each pertaining to a different degree of glory. He likened these different glories to the sun, to the moon, and to different stars (see 1 Cor. 15:41). We learn from modern revelation that these three different degrees of glory have a special relationship to the three different members of the Godhead. The lowest degree is the telestial domain of those who “received not the gospel, neither the testimony of Jesus, neither the prophets” (D&C 76:101) and who have had to suffer for their wickedness. But even this degree has a glory that “surpasses all understanding” (D&C 76:89). Its occupants receive the Holy Spirit and the administering of angels, for even those who have been wicked will ultimately be “heirs of [this degree of] salvation” (D&C 76:88). The next higher degree of glory, the terrestrial, “excels in all things the glory of the telestial, even in glory, and in power, and in might, and in dominion” (D&C 76:91). The terrestrial is the abode of those who were the “honorable men of the earth” (D&C 76:75). Its most distinguishing feature is that those who qualify for terrestrial glory “receive of the presence of the Son” (D&C 76:77). Concepts familiar to all Christians might liken this higher kingdom to heaven because it has the presence of the Son. In contrast to traditional Christianity, we join with Paul in affirming the existence of a third or higher heaven. Modern revelation describes it as the celestial kingdom—the abode of those “whose bodies are celestial, whose glory is that of the sun, even the glory of God” (D&C 76:70). Those who qualify for this kingdom of glory “shall dwell in the presence of God and his Christ forever and ever” (D&C 76:62). Those who have met the highest requirements for this kingdom, including faithfulness to covenants made in a temple of God and marriage for eternity, will be exalted to the godlike state referred to as the “fulness” of the Father or eternal life (D&C 76:56, 94; see also D&C 131; D&C 132:19–20). (This destiny of eternal life or God’s life should be familiar to all who have studied the ancient Christian doctrine of and belief in deification or apotheosis.) For us, eternal life is not a mystical union with an incomprehensible spirit-god. Eternal life is family life with a loving Father in Heaven and with our progenitors and our posterity."
  6. 💰 + 💪 + 💃🕺 = 😍
  7. I'm pretty sure that your same points were addressed originally in this 23 page thread. Your ideas were proven to be incorrect both scripturally and by modern prophets in the thread by multiple posters and in several other threads since that time. I know of at least one other thread within the last week alone that you have attempted to push your same interpretative agenda that disagrees with the interpretations set forth by modern prophets and apostles. The pretense that you are trying to engage in a debate is false. You attempt to create limitations on everyone else by stating that they are ONLY allowed to use scriptures and not modern prophetic statements. It is NOT everyone else, including the authorized servants of God, who are wrong on the issue. YOU are wrong about the realities of eternity, Rob.
  8. It's maddening that they just aren't willing to listen to reason. Maybe if you posted your personal interpretation again and again throughout various threads it would eventually make a difference....
  9. Maybe he means the expletive of your choice? Star }@$%*+!! Wars!!!
  10. I can confirm the unconquerable spirit of the Filipinos. I received the lakan antas rank in modern arnis (Filipino martial art) many years ago. Some of the most practical-minded combatives training I have done. In terms of conquering any group of people, I'd say that removing God from their society is key #1 to ensuring their demise. Scriptural history has shown this over and over again.
  11. This is some country that I don't believe will be conquered:
  12. So, is this what passes for "humor" these days? "Shock humor" is what comedians resort to when their desperate, last resort fart jokes are failing....
  13. I'm pretty sure I would have voted for the popular 4th grade boy had he been the GOP nominee against Hillary..... A block of wood would also have gotten my vote. Or some pond slime on a floating stump. The list goes on....
  14. President Henry B. Eyring April 2017 General Conference "Walk With Me" "The second lesson is that the Lord’s work is not just to solve problems; it is to build people. So as you walk with Him in priesthood service, you may find that sometimes what seems like the most efficient solution is not the Lord’s preferred solution because it does not allow people to grow. If you listen, He will teach you His ways. Remember that God’s work and glory is not simply to run an effective organization; it is “to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1:39). This is, after all, why He gives His priesthood authority to flawed mortals like you and me and invites us to participate in His work. Our progress is His work!"
  15. What a great new policy! This potentially allows several new deacons to enter the program at the same time. They will also transition to the next Priesthood office at the same time in two years. Stronger bonds can be formed by quorums who are together for the full two years and then transition into the next quorum together.
  16. @Edspringer, to save you a lot of frustration later, I will save you some time now. Rob Osborn believes the modern apostles and prophets are mistaken in their interpretations of scripture. He believes that the Telestial and Terrestrial Kingdoms are not final kingdoms of glory and that they only pertain to now and millennium time periods respectively.
  17. When speaking of women in combat, there is a part of the job description that often gets ignored. Part of military training consists of what to do when taken as prisoner of war. We can pretend that the international laws will protect POW's all we want, but female soldiers taken as POW's are not going to receive the same treatement that male POW's receive... Being able to perform other parts of the job might not disqualify women from these roles, but this part of the job description should.
  18. It's pronounced "Bou-quet".....
  19. In case you are wondering, this is the very reason you feel like you are banging your head against a wall. Nobody else cares how the rest of the world chooses to define the United Order or the Law of Consecration. It seems rather clear from your statements that the world hasn't given a proper definition, so why should we be beholden to their labeling limitations? Instead, why would we not choose to follow what multiple prophets have stated and that has been repeated many times over in this thread?
  20. Hmmm. Sounds like someone is asking to have their ashes be scattered all over the local landfill.... You know... So you could be resurrected amongst your "treasures."
  21. Neither. On any day. All day long.
  22. A culturally re-imagined Jedi from unknown, average parents who grew up in the armpit of space on the non-streets who is more powerful with the force than Luke Skywalker, flies the Millenium Falcon better than Han, and is prettier than Princess Leia... I just cannot imagine where this premise went wrong! As soon as Hux didn't blast Poe into oblivion in the beginning of TLJ, I knew that movie was going to be uninspired. For instance, can you imagine Darth Vader trading banter with with Poe in that scene? I won't even start on the "stoner comedy" that all the Marvel movies have decided to embrace....
  23. The value of a soul is great in God's eyes. There are times to defend the truth and there are times to recognize that building a relationship of trust and encouraging your new friend to pray and study for their own revelatory experience is more important than correcting every misunderstanding of doctrine. If someone would have approached you demanding that you accept the doctrine of Eternal marriage and baptism for the dead before having you pray and receive an answer from God for yourself, how would you have accepted it? Line upon line, precept upon precept is how we all grow. Milk before meat.
