  1. Considering the Sacrament as instituted by the Savior was bread and wine, I'm thinking it was ok to drink during their time period. 😉 See: 3 Nephi 18:1-11
  2. Well, lets see then: 1. Doesn't know the month. Doesn't know the week.Doesn't know the day of the week. Doesn't know what time of day. Doesn't know what house. Dowsnt know a general location of the house. Doesn't know how she got there. Doesn't know how she got home. Doesn't remember how many people were there. Doesn't remember whether the music was turned down afterwards. Drank some alcohol. Remembers hearing talking downstairs, but then changes mind and just assumes they were talking downstairs because she can't remember if the music was turned down or not. Doesn't tell her parents. Doesn't tell her friends. Finally tells her therapist 30 years later. No corroborating testimony or evidence. All witnesses say they do not remember this having happened. But yes... 100% certain it was Brett Kavanaugh! Versus: 2. Never been accused of any sexual crimes previously. Hundreds of character witnesses of the opposite sex willing to state under oath that it's not in his character to do something like this. Has calendar logged events of where he was during the summer in question demonstrating that most of the time was spent out of town. No calendar days seem to corroborate going to such a gathering where the incident supposedly took place. Denies it happened under oath. Yessiree. That definitely merits a full investigation from the FBI.... 😉
  3. So... The people who literally make the laws... ...say they want to defer to a law enforcement agency to give them the evidence they already heard? For those who think this is a good idea, by all means, please name ONE SINGLE Democrat that will change their stance after the investigation is concluded. The truth is that this has been a Democrat planned series of delay tactics. Delaying it one more week is going to appease nobody, change nobody's mind, and win nothing further for the Republicans. I hope Flake's acquiescence to his opposition causes a different conservative to take his spot in the next election.
  4. And when those didn't work and the vote was about to take place, they resorted to ole # 3 in the playbook.
  5. Of course. And that is exactly the point. The facts all add up to this being a charade to buy time in hopes of extending this game until after the midterm elections.
  6. To be honest, the Democrat tactics used during this entire "circus" have solidified to me even more that they have nothing else in the playbook. This is what desperate looks like. And the the only thing I disagree with Vort on is that I actually think Kavanaugh will be confirmed.
  7. Or, in the real world, we could always assume someone is innocent until proven guilty.
  8. The kind of man who gets nominated to be a judge on the US Supreme Court.
  9. The writing is terrible because the ideology of the writers is terrible. They have no idea how to write an epic storyline because they don't understand what reverence is. We all all love watching the protagonist get beaten until they reach deep within themselves to find that inner strength, that courageous, honest, heartfelt desire to fight for something larger than their own selves. But when you fully remove religion from someone's ideology, there is no such thing as reverence towards anything else. We are then left with stoner comedy and neat-o special effects.
  10. I could be wrong, but I get the sense that JAG sees this in terms of a trial. (Which obviously makes sense...) Someone else already typed out what I was thinking: https://www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/outlook/kavanaughs-senate-hearing-isnt-a-trial-the-standard-isnt-reasonable-doubt/2018/09/20/1eb1ee34-bd15-11e8-b7d2-0773aa1e33da_story.html
  11. I have it from a reliable source that the following changes will be taking place: 1. Doing away with early morning seminary. This will be replaced with a daily early morning Sunday School for the entire family at the chapel. Class starts at 5:45 am and not a minute later. 2. Doing away with the Sunday 3 hour meeting schedule. This will be replaced with a 2 1/2 hour Sacrament meeting. We heard you enjoyed listening to the high councilmen speak, so we wanted to make sure he could be extra thorough! 3. In order to move closer to the law of consecration, tithing will now be moved to paying 63% of your increase instead of 10%. We also anticipate this will increase the saints' ability to do math. 4. All classes will now take place in the foyers. We anticipate this will move everyone else into the classrooms where they will find a secretly called individual there who will inconspicuously lead a gospel centered discussion amongst the group. You heard it here first!
  12. Robbery ---> bribery He's escalating! Next thing you know he'll become a lawyer! 🤑
  13. The problem with @Just_A_Guy's explanation is that I can't really trust someone who robbed a 7-11 as a teenager.
  14. Pray. I would pray and follow whatever answer I receive. Perhaps it is a scam. Perhaps not. Either way, this scripture comes to mind: Matthew 5:40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. 41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. This spirit of this teaching tells me that I should be full of love and serve my neighbor. While that might not always be financial service, love and concern for others is what Christ teaches.
  15. As stated, there is pretty much nothing that DEMOCRATS can do to stop it. Republicans that move to the other side of the aisle in this case would be foolish if they hope to retain their seats in the next election. The political divide has become so wide (and obvious!) that those who try to stay in the middle tend to be cast aside by both parties. Like you, brother, I am on the side of Christ. And that is the ONLY place I want to be!
  16. These people, on both sides, already know what they are going to do. And in case you were wondering what that is, they intend to do as much politikin' as they can while the cameras are rolling. (Yawn.) I want my my tax dollars refunded that were spent on this circus. Kavanaugh is going to be the next Supreme Court justice and there is pretty much nothing the democrats can do about it.
  17. I have used both for years in my work and personal life. As a general rule, I find myself grabbing the iPhone when I want to make a phone call, get on the internet, chat with someone via text or Google Hangouts, or buy something online. It seems to work smoother and is more responsive to my touch. The android I tend to use for work as certain necessary programs aren't available on the iPhone. The battery life always lasts longer, too, for obvious reasons. I have to say that the discussion about open source and what can or can't be done on the various operating systems is probably meaningless to 99% of users. Truth be told, I'm getting to the point where I prefer to put my phones down and enjoy non-digitalized social interactions and the serenity of watching the trees and sky outdoors. I've missed a lot of life by being on the phone too often.
  18. I started using the Crystal stick almost 20 years ago and haven't looked back. I was was nervous about trying it at first, but a buddy of mine encouraged me by saying he had been using it. Positives: No more rashes or bumps. No more armpit stains on clothing. One stick lasts me several months, so it's MUCH less expensive than deodorant. Can be rubbed on the shirt, too, so workout clothing can be de-stinkified. Negatives: It's not anti-perspirant, so I still sweat and get wet armpits. I have dropped it on the tile floor and shattered it. (Nothing like rubbing broken rocks on your armpits...) Some people love it. Others claim it doesn't work for them. I personally would not go back to deodorant again.
  19. I end up just smacking the razor against the dry towel several times to make sure it is "mostly" dry. However, a lot of men do tend to get fancy with it by using rubbing alcohol to clean/dispel moisture and then drying that with a towel and/or hair dryer. Professionals tend to use the blue jar of alcohol for their hair cutting products for that reason. But for me, I typically just clean any hair off, rinse it, and then smack it on a dry towel on both sides several times. https://www.consumeraffairs.com/amp/news/how-to-get-more-shaves-from-your-razor-blades-101714.html
  20. Your blades don't last because you aren't drying them properly afterwards. Clean and dry them after each usage and they will last for months/years. I shaved my head and face for well over a decade every single day. I once used the same disposable razor for over a year and a half. Clean. Dry thoroughly. Oxidation is the enemy here.
  21. The Book of Mormon was written for our day! Alma 34:45 Nevertheless, the Nephites were inspired by a better cause, for they were not fighting for monarchy nor power but they were fighting for their homes and their liberties, their wives and their children, and their all, yea, for their rites of worship and their church. 46 And they were doing that which they felt was the duty which they owed to their God; for the Lord had said unto them, and also unto their fathers, that: Inasmuch as ye are not guilty of the first offense, neither the second, ye shall not suffer yourselves to be slain by the hands of your enemies. 47 And again, the Lord has said that: Ye shall defend your families even unto bloodshed. Therefore for this cause were the Nephites contending with the Lamanites, to defend themselves, and their families, and their lands, their country, and their rights, and their religion.
  22. Fullness. Of. Joy. Ponder what that means. D&C 101:36 Wherefore, fear not even unto death; for in this world your joy is not full, but in me your joy is full.
  23. This dispensation started with God appearing to a young man in a grove of trees. I'd say that miracle is pretty convincing of God's reality...
  24. I tend to see this case the same way TFP does. The Savior even mentioned that His time had not yet come. It might explain the somewhat out of place nature of this particular miracle. But, the truth is that many of His miracles were such that they accomplished a need at the time. He served others with love and even tended to their temporal needs at times.
