I think the Median income is $55,000. Obama and Romney both suggest that $200,000 (individual) to $250,000 (Dual) and bove are considered wealthy. So about $55,000 - $200,000 ($250,000) is middle. Pretty big spread if you ask me. I read an article that regardless of these definitions and regardless of what you make, a lot people consider themselves middle class. If can put food on my table and we are happy, that must mean I am not truely poor right? Which I tend to agree with a little. My attitude has never been that of self remorse that I was poor. Rather, we made do and were taken care of and happy, therefore not poor, not rich, but middle. I know that veers of the subject matter at hand a little, sorry.

I do not know of any scripture reference, but your question seems to answer itself. Would not anyone that held keys have right to correct false teachings over the area they serve?

The middle class average will lose approx $100.00 a month off of the Social Security raise in taxes. Everything else on mine looked the same. But who isnt going to miss $1,200 a year? I know I will.

When can we come over? Minus the grits. I think that is an acquired taste... that I have not yet acquired.

I love breakfast! Tell me some of your favorite breakfast ideas and traditions! Let me start. Mine is pretty tipical, my family calls it "The Whole Nine Yards". It is what is sounds like. When I was growing up, my dad was out of town a lot on Sundays. When he was home he would cook this for us. Basically, it included, sliced fried ham, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, hash browns, fruit cup and fresh squeezed orange juice by hand. I would normally chop all of mine up (accept the fruit) and make it into a skillet. I still carry that tradition in my family, however usually during the week and for dinner.

From what I have read in the handbook, almost every mention of a branch gives a pretty wide opportunity to do as the spirit directs. I say you are fine as long as it is approved.

I did this last year. I started with a freez dried food package that will last my family of 6, 4 months by itself. I then started purchasing the staples like wheat, pasta...etc... to make those meals go further. For me having just a bunch of ingredients that I can make food with wouldnt work. I needed a type of meal plan, that is what the freeze dried items did. All ready to go, just add water, but I can add breads and sides to stretch those out. That worked for me.

Same here. But mine usually just spins and spins and never loads. Actually, yesterday, I put in the wrong password and it told me so, I clicked on the forums link anyway and it said I was logged in?

I always go to my family events. I guess I am used to, but still dissapointed that most of my family doesnt make any effort. At my daughters baptism last year one brother (out of 4) and my parents came. On my wifes side hardly anyone came. To be honest, I relied on the ward more for support. My daughter was okay since her friends showed up. Even if you are innactive or not a member, support really means something to families. I would go to another churches event if it meant something to my family. As much as I would love to say that I dont care after all these years of this, it still stings. Sorry for what you are going through Eowyn.

A design for medicine bottles that would only allow the pills to come out in the right amount prescribed. If it says take two, then only two would come out. Not just one, then all of them. haha!

Haven't you watched any movies? That never works out.

I have to ask my daughter (8 years old) to give my back a good scratch because my wife doesnt want to distract anyone. I have to make a deal that I will scratch my daughters back after she is done with mine however. :) My wifes reluctance comes from others in the ward who seem to get a little crazy with rubbing the back of the neck and using fingernails on the back of the head. Seems they are enjoying it a little too much. She doesnt want to be like that. When I do get her to scratch the old back, it is usually pretty brief. I mean, who doesnt love a good back scratch?

Sacrament Meeting and little kids.......
EarlJibbs replied to idahommie's topic in General Discussion
My advice. Try to remember why I am there. And that is to renew covenants with our Heavenly Father. aside from that the rest of the day could go wrong, but I still would have participated in something miraculous. I remember a conference talk given that parents should not always feel the need to get up and leave the chapel if their children start crying etc... I could not find it however. I do think though, that if it is going tobe a prolonged annoyance, you should find a way to remedy the situation, even if that is leaving to the foyer. I get to do that every week with my 2 year old. She simply needs a little room to run in a circle, and I still get to hear the talks from the foyer. We used to have a child that would escape and play the organ. He was rather small so it was hard to see him before the organ started blaring... we called him the phantom of the chapel. -
I would be played by Hugh Jackman, and my wife would play herself. That would be a little present from me, since she likes Hugh so much. :)

There was a time I liked to pay cash because the check wouldnt clear within a few days. I had times where it took moer than a week. I couldnt have that. So I started paying cash. Already great posts here. Some pay on gross. Some pay on net and insurance. some pay just net and then on tax returns. If you do not feel like you are somehow cheating the system, it is up to you. If you feel that maybe you are not offering a full tithing by paying one way or another. Chat with your Bishop. You should feel 100% that you are paying 100%. Because then you will expect 100% of the heavens to be opened as promised.

One of my fun oriented goals is to explore more and see cool stuff not too far with my kids. Since we got our MAV (Mormon Assault Vehicle) summer 2012 I have been more brave to drive more places. I want to see all of the good waterfalls in Utah and then venture up into Idaho. My kids are hooked on that idea since we went to Big Provo River Falls up near Mirror Lake in the Uhintas. I also want to explore and show them the many areas that we have in Utah with ancient indian Hieroglyphic’s.

Why can we put a man on the moon, but the coils that recall our seatbelts never seem to work after a few months of buying a new car? -
When you get your tax notice, send it back and state that the address they are taxing is not valid. Worth a try?

How much Spanish does one use in the average state-side mission?
EarlJibbs replied to Backroads's topic in General Discussion
Depends on the area. I have a friend who served in Miami. He speaks better spanish than I do and I went to Venezuela where we rarely spoke English. So he may not speak it all the time, but I think he will have ample oportunity to learn it and speak it. I personally feel that english/spanish missions are tougher (at least it would have been for me). Teaching the gospel in spanish for me was easy, but in english? The few times that I was able to do it, it was terrifying! What a great experience to do it in both languages for your brothers. -
Leaving the Church Because Pianists Aren't Paid
EarlJibbs replied to MorningStar's topic in General Discussion
I think you win :) I completely understand what you are saying and agree. I need to stop comparing outside of the main OP. My point was that I think there are many within the church that feel underappreciated, overwhelmed and not respected. I can understand the problem is that being known to play a musical instrument that is found in every school and church in the state, reaches far beyond sunday service.
